Tekken Tag is still my favorite and imo best to this day, but DR on the PS3/PSP was the best. Still had the realness about the game that 6+ lacked with all its juggles and wall carry that I didn’t like or get used to.
but the arcade version of ttt1 is also special for me, I like to see so many characters in the graphic style of tekken 3, tk3 is my favorite game, and the one I like the most graphically is ttt1 ps2 version,. ,, is that tk3 is magical, bro is the most played game in the history of video games, even now it is played more than before, you search on youtube with filters today last minute this week this year, there is always someone playing in tk3 today or last hour, hahahahah, it is something that no game has, tk3 and resident 2 are the 2 most played games of psx1 but tk3 aged better, tekken 3 continued playing until today but re2 only a few continue playing it
@@RisingUppercut i think that's the main thing newer Tekken lacks. Unique and interesting stages and character specific OST, or something like that. Not 3 helipads with generic dubstep 🤷
Honestly loved when I was able to buy T5 DK in 2019 I need to try get a PS3 again, I played TEKKEN 5 in the 2005 era but I remember when years later the PS3 at the video game stores advertising the heck out of this with PSP connecting sort of thing.. such a era for gaming back then
i played t5dr again before t7 came out, just to get used to tekken again, i remember unlocking all the chars of t5 in 2 days when it came out so excited after t4 lol! and i'd gotten a ps2 again after not having a working one for a year. first time i saw dr was at a friends house probably sometime in 2007 and the gpx was crazy lol, couldnt wait to play it! the leap to HD was crazy.
Easy to see the ps3 is the far better version with much cleaner pictures, higher textures, frame rates and more. but still impressive they made it to work on ps2.
It looks better than emulating ps2 version in 4k however I would take the ps2 version over ps3 do to the endings being there and also because the ps2 version has tekken 1, 2 and 3 on it too
Its weird. I entirely prefer the PS2 here. The PS3-version doesnt blend character with stage well. The characters seems weirdly smooth and the hitboxes seems off to me. In the ps2, it might be bit rougher on the eyes, but it tells a much better story. Imo.
I really wish Tekken 5DR was on PS2. Since Thrill Drive 3 was managed to be played on PS2 Emulation (and i heard its playable on PS2 FAT) hopefully this coud get preserved onto real hardware too...
Please do difference between all counterpart stages and their ost next. For example: Tekken 5 Secret Garden; Massive Stunner and Tekken 5 Dark resurrection All Hollow's Eve; Martial Medicine.
Yeah right, well since the game came out in 2004 I guess it was just in time before widescreen became a thing, I would assume that's why they sort of shortcutted it
@@RisingUppercut There is an option on the PS2 version of the game to put the game in 16:9 widescreen (480p). It would be a much better comparaison then Stretching the 4:3. Nice Video!
@@RisingUppercut yes tekken 5 ps2, it has a thicker texture than dr, dr is more lite but with more resolution on the console, but even with more resolution it shows that it is worse than tk5 ps2, I made the comparison a long time ago, I put tk5 ps2 in hd, and it is brutally better than dr besides, even on ps2 you can see it too well, in fact I already realized it on ps2, that's why I said, it seems better to me tk5 graphic even being less resolution, but I'll to compare it anyway to the same quality hd, also tk51 arckade warn me,
@@espejoPublic Oh really, that is interesting! Well in real capture the ps3 is of course better than ps2 console games but with pc and emulation enhancing the games it's interesting to hear that there are more to ps2 Tekken 5 than Dr!
@@RisingUppercut Yes, if ps2 is like a more advanced console, only that it runs less resolution, but it is the same type of 3d games as more advanced consoles, ps3 its only difference is that it runs with more resolution,
Imo the better level: City at Sunset < City Lights Cities at nighttime will beat a sunset anyday, along with the nice soundtrack Dragon's Nest < Western Gate Dragon's Nest has a slightly better soundtrack though Waterfall < Meteor Shower Beats Waterfall in every aspect, no explanation Burning Temple > Autumn Temple Way more epic than DR's counterpart Hell's Gate > Heaven's Gate Another boring af version from DR Secret Garden > All Hollow's Eve Although the latter is visually more sound and nothing wrong with the soundtrack, Secret Garden is simply way better and the music makes your blood boil Acid Rain < Festival I'd like to call a draw, but more city lights and higher tempo in the music might give the edge here Poolside < Pool Party Never really cared about this stage, but the nighttime version wins this one Polar Paradise > Aurora Astralis The latter is yet again superior visually, but Polar Paradise's soundtrack gives that immensely mythical vibe about Antarctica. I love it a lot 💗 Final Frontier = Space Colony Boring stage both ways Urban Jungle > Ghetto Pit Damn this stage screams intimidation! What even is that place? Pirate's Cove > Galleon Miles better in terms of music Moonlit Wilderness > Great Plains Great Plains is one of my favourites, the soundtrack is magical. But moonlit wilderness is the best there is on tekken 5, it doesn't get better than that. Like life and death depends on that fight. Final Stage > Inferno The first one makes a lot more sense than inferno, much better visually and musically, gives a lot darker tone to it.
Do you think Tekken 5 and DR was the best Tekken game on PS2 and PS3?

tkn tag 1 ps2 the best , and tk5 ps2 ,

I always liked the fact that there were 2 versions of each stage with different OST.
That was a cool touch!

SYSTEM 256 was just PS2 hardware but for some reasons, they never released PS2 port of TK5 DR.
I love these games to this day.
Timeless games!

yeah, i tried to make the transitions a smooth as possible with the separate recordings!

Hey do you think there is a mod for the ps3 with the old announcer?
Tekken 5 on PS2 has built in widescreen with 480p Progressive Scan. Why stretch the 4:3?

Yup
i got it last month june 2023
Just got it today Jan 2024
Tekken 5 progresivo 480p 😶👍ps2 9x16
You could tell the difference between the PS2 and the PS3 versions simply by the PS2's blurriness
Imo the better level:
City at Sunset < City Lights
Cities at nighttime will beat a sunset anyday, along with the nice soundtrack
Dragon's Nest < Western Gate
Dragon's Nest has a slightly better soundtrack though
Waterfall < Meteor Shower
Beats Waterfall in every aspect, no explanation
Burning Temple > Autumn Temple
Way more epic than DR's counterpart
Hell's Gate > Heaven's Gate
Another boring af version from DR
Secret Garden > All Hollow's Eve
Although the latter is visually more sound and nothing wrong with the soundtrack, Secret Garden is simply way better and the music makes your blood boil
Acid Rain < Festival
I'd like to call a draw, but more city lights and higher tempo in the music might give the edge here
Poolside < Pool Party
Never really cared about this stage, but the nighttime version wins this one
Polar Paradise > Aurora Astralis
The latter is yet again superior visually, but Polar Paradise's soundtrack gives that immensely mythical vibe about Antarctica. I love it a lot 💗
Final Frontier = Space Colony
Boring stage both ways
Urban Jungle > Ghetto Pit
Damn this stage screams intimidation! What even is that place?
Pirate's Cove > Galleon
Miles better in terms of music
Moonlit Wilderness > Great Plains
Great Plains is one of my favourites, the soundtrack is magical. But moonlit wilderness is the best there is on tekken 5, it doesn't get better than that. Like life and death depends on that fight.
Final Stage > Inferno
The first one makes a lot more sense than inferno, much better visually and musically, gives a lot darker tone to it.
Great video for a great game!
Tekken 5 has a widescreen setting
Ps2 feels more cinematic
The Tekken for Ps3, real is for Tekken 5 Dark resurrection for PSP
Except it's the missing the story mode and endings
Tekken 5 is the best
No arguing there:D
Tekken 5 DR is the best Tekken Game ever.
Great vid
Best Tekken ever...
I Love It Tekken 5 on Ps2 :)
I Like It Tekken 5 DR Version on PPSSPP
Don't Buying Ps3....:(
Thats fine as long as you play tekken, hehe!
