    I love that Naveed was excited to watch it without it being dubbed because his English has gotten so good!.
    When the father said he looks like a schlemiel (a Yiddish word/Jewish) because he didn't wear a tie to meet the president, he meant he looks like a stupid, awkward, or unlucky person.
    Yes the John Lennon reference was factual.

    The actor who you remember from Jurassic Park is Jeff Goldblum..and he is an incredible saxophone player and plays with a band as well as acting. The actor playing the President is Bill Pullman...and I adore him, too. Not because he's handsome, but he is a wonderful actor. Judd Hirsch plays the father you like.
    By the way, Naveed, it is different watching a movie in a language you don't understand and just using subtitles, opposed to in one you do understand, isn't it? You don't miss anything at all, due to reading the lines. Whole new experience.

    I LOVE how you guys are exploring an entire other culture! I SO envy your ability to speak a second language, and have so much respect for your efforts. We need people like you, everywhere.
    Oh, I have never asked, and haven't seen if it is mentioned: Are you two brothers? I see a lot of similarities, and it could just be an ethnic vibe, but you two seem like actual full-brothers. If not, please take it as a compliment. People over in America who are bigots have "accused" me of looking like I am from your part of Earth. I have a South Asian tanning allele of one gene, probably came to Europe through trade routes, so I tan really quick and very dark. I get in the faces of the bigots, and tell them, though I am not from where you are, there is NOTHING wrong with being from there. Ignorance is rampant over here. I would apologise, but I correct it, so it is not for me to apologise.
    Anyway, this movie is good. You might also like Jeff Goldblum in a funny Sci-fi comedy from the late 1980s, "Earth Girls Are Easy," co-starring Geena Davis (from "Pretty Woman"), and with VERY EARLY starting co-staring roles for Jim Carrey and Daymon Wayans, featuring music by Julie Brown (from, "Home Coming Queen's Got a Gun!"). Be well, cousins.
    P.S. To reference "schlemiel," you may watch "Laverne & Shirley," a 1070s comedy. Their opening song featured, "Schlemiel! Schlemazl! Hossenpfeffer Incorporated!" Which translates to the Yiddish, "the unlucky one who loses what he values, i.e., spills the soup," while the the second word is, "the unlucky one upon whom the soup is spilt." And hossenpfeffer is German for "rabbit stew," which most Americans would not eat, as we see rabbits as pets or valuable wildlife. I guess I DO know from other languages...?

    I ask you people in the comment field.
    I have tried to find an answer because I noticed that president Whitmore and the general were very personal to each other.
    Whitmore: "I'm a combat pilot Will"
    Will: "They're going down all around the world Tom!
    I have a theory that when Whitmore still was a pilot Will was his commander, or vice versa because they seem to have a personal connection.

    Naveed!
    I invite you to watch the original ending that made test audiences laugh, so they rewrote it and shot the ending you know.
    See, on TH-cam: "Independence Day Alternate Ending"
    Setup: the film originally had Russell Case being denied permission to fly in the final battle because he was a drunk alcoholic, so he came back at the end as a surprise.
    The way they originally did it ruined the tension so the climax had no impact, and the audience laughed at what should be a very serious and emotional self-sacrifice.
    You might laugh, too.

    I have always thought that they were watching all the Hollywood movies in English because they seem to be able to speak it. So was every single one of their reaction to the dubbed version of the film or only certain movies? Alot of times with dubbed versions you get poor translation and you don't get to hear the original actors voices or feel their emotion come through. Is it possible to react to movies in their original language from now on?

    Wait, I am very much confused here. All videos that I have watched previously have seemed to show that the language of the dialogue was translated and your reactions were translated back in English yet now I see you both speaking English fluently. It is not a bad thing but I feel tricked in some ways as I am always trying to understand cultural differences and language differences of movies to cultures. I have never seen a previous video review from you that suggests that you are both highly fluent in English. In some ways, I feel duped. I will say that this is not a bad thing but why did you not post your previous reactions with your excellent reactions that you understood English and had to not have English subtitles to understand your responses? I am considering unfollowing for that reason of feeling duped but will not at this time simply because I have seen your true emotional response to movies and shared emotional experience as brothers.

    • @user-wr9ej6xe4j

      Mansoor was in most of the videos and he doesnt understand English. So even if Naveed does (and hes spoken English on many vids including their food trying channel CountryFolk Try) it wouldnt be fair to play movies in English if only one of them can speak it or understand it

    • @robertcampbell8084
      @robertcampbell8084 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@user-wr9ej6xe4j I seriously did not mean any disrespect. I simply did not know this after watching at least 20 of their videos where they spoke in their home language. I will simply say that I am impressed by both of their fluency in English in this video and have mad respect for the times that I have seen them turn to each other and hold out a hand on the shoulder during very intense scenes to support each other to even offer a hand on the shoulder or more. It does not make a difference to me their language knowledge but to the universal language of love and support. It make more sense to me about brothers being there for each other to support one another even in intense emotional experiences no matter the situation. I would also like to express these brothers for their fantastic fluency in English. :)

    • @robertcampbell8084
      @robertcampbell8084 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't understand what you some of you are trying to tell me. These two brothers have spoken impeccable English throughout this reaction and I applaud this, but why have I never seen this before? They are amazing yet again to each other and supporting each other as brothers, but I find it hard to understand that they are both somehow become exceptionally fluent in English in the last month that I have watched their reactions (bear in mind that I have watched at least 20 of their previous reactions to movies where they have never said a "lick of word" in English in their reaction. It is not a bad thing, but I am left with questions. Did they both partially have some understanding of English and are now ready to reply fully in English or did they know English from the start? I am told that Mansoor does not understand English but I see both of them at the same equivalence in English at all times. Kudos to them but why the sudden change and why was there never any prior videos that I have seen that they both are very fluent in English? How was this accomplished this quickly? I am not saying it is impossible, but how?
