That game had so much hype in the week leading up to it, that I didn’t know it was possible to exceed the expectations. And yet that game did anyways.
I am a Chiefs fan. And after that game I wasn’t even mad that we lost. But I was just shocked of how incredible of a game this was

Patrick bums is overrated. He got out matched by a 43 yr old QB.
That game was insane. Not only was it an offensive shootout, but there were also 3 total defensive touchdowns in that game. 2 defensive TDs for Ebukam on the Rams and 1 defensive TD for the Chiefs. Crazy. I also love that the NFL released the entire game for free here on YT.
Right! I was overwhelmed! The Chiefs win that game if Strickland gets that interception. Chiefs corners couldn’t cover worth nothing that year.

Patrick Mahomes has been a part of so many of the NFL's greatest games it just seems crazy

One of the best games I have ever seen.
And both teams D played bad and good at the same time the rams D had 2 D td's and the cheifs D had one that helped the game be closer from mahomes throwing 6 td's which is 36 points by him and his recievers and then having his D add another 6 points is huge the bad Defense was that both teams kept scoring and got lots of yards all night
There was no defense at all I don't know how this could be considered the best game

My “second” team is Jacksonville, which is the team my brother is a fan of. I’ve followed them since 2013ish but I’ve been following them closer in recent years. I would still say Jets r number one in my heart snd I hope Wilson and Lawrence are the QBs of the future

It was the second game of the season when he threw 6 TD's against Pittsburgh on the road. Roethlisberger was standing on the sidelines saying "WHO IS THIS GUY?"
Honestly. This was Goffs greatest moment. Stayed poised and won that game himself with some amazing throws

What was really interesting, is that this game was originally, supposed to be played in Mexico City, but because of poor field quality was moved to LA. If it had been played in Mexico, just think of how the pressure, and stage would have been elevated.
I would’ve loved for Mexico City to be treated to a game like that. A lot of football fans woulda been made that night!

That was one of the most high scoring games with 105 points scored, I just wrote this right after the divisional playoff and Patrick just played through a sprained ankle. That dude is a once in a lifetime qb.
Won the superbowl with that same injury
This was one of those “where were you at” games. I went to a Preds hockey game that night, then to Broadway after. The bar was electric watching this game. One of the best games ever!
My mother, sister, and i went to a restaurant/ bar to watch this game. It was a stormy night here in the dfw area of texas. I believe it was in the 3rd quarter when the thunderstorm knocked out the tv's and the game was off. My mom had the nfl app and quickly opened it up and set it up against her drink and we huddled around to continue watching. The chiefs had scored a touchdown and we all 3 celebrated. Next thing you know we had like 20 people huddled around 1 table watching this game on a phone screen, going absolutely crazy at the firework shootout going into the 4th quarter before the tvs finally got service again and the game was back on. It was such a memorable moment and I'll never forget it. Absolutely the greatest game I've ever watched despite the outcome.
As a life long Chiefs fan. I've suffered through many disappointments. So to finally be relevant and have an incredible qb feels great. I honest don't remember the last time, not only the Chiefs. But ANY team had 5 turnovers and still scored 50 points

If Kareem Hunt had stayed on this team, they would have likely been unstoppable, even Brady and his elite defenses couldn’t do anything about it
I agree 100% Bandito667! If we could’ve kept Kareem, the Chiefs just might’ve beaten them Bucs!! He was such a Dynamic RB & pass catcher!! He just ran with that ball like he was Mad at the Grass!! So Sad he couldn’t behave! And he got in trouble when he went back home to his Boyz in Cleveland!!
I'm an old dude, I was in grade school and then high school during the Chiefs first run (they pretty much owned the old AFL), which culminated in them winning SB IV over the Vikings. That was a great team and I've been a passionate fan ever since. Len Dawson was the QB, and yes, he was great, but obviously nothing like Mahomes. He was more of a game management QB, much like Alex Smith. That team did it to you with their ground game (awesome offensive line) and defense (great players at every position). I fell in love with that team, but they were no where near as exciting to watch as the Mahomes teams. Thank God for Patrick Mahomes, and thank God for John Dorsey, the Chiefs GM who traded up to #10 so he could draft Mahomes. Chiefs have had a lot of conservative GMs in their history, only other year they picked a QB in the first round was 83 when they chose Todd Blackledge while Jim Kelly and Dan Marino were still on the board. What a disaster! But Mahomes makes up for that mistake and pretty much every other mistake the Chiefs have made in the draft over the years.
I’m from Illinois, and was in Arizona for thanksgiving when this game happened, and I remember me and my little cousin (2 years younger) losing our minds watching this game.
I will never forget that game. One of the greatest I’ve ever seen live.

During the 2018 season, Mahomes passed for 50 touchdowns, not 55. The only time any QB threw for 55 was Manning in 2013 which still currently stands as an NFL record.

Mahomes had 56 total tds in 2018. 53 passing and 3 rushing including playoffs. Where are you all getting your data from lol.

Every real chiefs fan knew it wasn't Bob Sutton that defense was just terrible especially Orlando Scandric
They spent too long on aging linebackers (Hali and Johnson) that should've been traded 2-3 years prior, and secondary players like Berry should've been traded for multiple draft picks instead of a completely wasted mega-contract. That defense was largely paying the price from too many years of Sutton's insistence on playing experienced veterans over fresh talent.

I went to this game, also went to the Rams superbowl after this. This was the greatest football game I have ever been to. Thats saying something to having seen the whole superbowl experience.
@Hudson Fasano what? The chiefs carved up the patriots in the afc championship game. The rams just had too many offensive injuries in the sb. The patriots were not that great in 2018, and it showed the following year.

I feel like he was a superstar after his first 2 games as a starter. He just looked like a dominant season QB so quickly. The rest of the season he kept the foot on the peddle and proved why he’s considered the best QB in football today. But man this game was legendary. I remember watching it live. One of the best games ever!

Not to mention he led the nation in passing at Texas Tech during his junior year of 2016.
Texas High School Player of the Year before that at Whitehouse Texas, and get this...only offered a scholarship by 3 D1 schools. He's a once in a generation talent.

This was still more impressive for the chiefs. #1 offense against the #1 defense and they destroyed the rams. However the chiefs had never bolstered a top ranking defense. However the rams were top 10 that year. So far more impressive for the chiefs to put on that kind of show.
