Our 2013 accord did this very thing. Throttle body was carbon stuck. Broke loose the throttle body and sprayed cleaner. Fixed the no idle. ECM took a little time to relearn. Then 4 months later, ECM is failed. Now confirmed.
Wow....that's quite a collection of ECMs. I have a 92 Accord Coupe with the original computer. Electrically, I have only had to replace the coil, igniter and re-soldered the main relay. It's got 175K and I still drive it occasionally. BTW, I love the style of your content. Keep em coming.
Bummer.. Could be lots of things causing that.. bad computer, bad main relay under steering wheel, bad fuel pump, bad fuel pump relay, bad camshaft or crankshaft position sensor...
Our 2008 Honda Accord has been at a shop for a while. The mechanic said we should take it to Honda Dealership for computer replacement. Is there a place where we could buy one elsewhere?
You would have to make sure the numbers match yours but possibly this: oemusedautoparts1.com/products/2008-2009-honda-accord-pcm-engine-computer-ecu-ecm-pcu-oem-p-n-37820-r71-l59-37820-r71-l58-fits-2008-2009-oem-used-auto-parts-3?currency=USD&variant=41147620262024&Google%20Shopping&gadid=&gadid=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuZGnBhD1ARIsACxbAViivDDsM4sNMGll0MzSckzFq17clMiOS0MjqsgzK1fIOaZLxegVx3AaAjFPEALw_wcB
My 2007 accord discharges after 5 minutes even with new alternator and battery and tested both, hoping it might not be the ECM. Anyone has had a similar experience or any tips? Bc I’m lost…
Did you figure it out? I changed my battery, alternator, starter, spark plugs and ignition coils and wires done, all within a month and still feels like it will shut off at any moment
Does it go out gradually or all at once? Trying to figure out whats wrong with my 96, but I suspect the fuel system. Just changed distributor cap and rotor and, as it did a few days ago (for 2 cold rainy days), it won't start at all now. And, now it makes a god-awful sound when i try to crank it too long. Checked the fuel pump fuse already. For months, I'd often have to try to start it many times and even jump start it on cold days or if I hadn't driven it in 3+ days. But, it started fine when warm/hot after driving a mile or more. Chances that it is the computer are what?
I've had computers fail all at once and also fail gradually.. The gradual was a no start when it was hot in the interior of the car like summer mid day but would start in the morning before interior got hot.. Unfortunately the only way to know if computer is your problem is to replace it.. If you can find one at a salvage yard you can probably buy a short warranty and return it if necessary.. Video of no start when hot in interior: th-cam.com/video/MUKbdrdVMyA/w-d-xo.html
@@tongo117 thank you. I misunderstood. Could've sworn you and others said the ECU computer failed usually when either cold or humid out...and did just fine when warm or hot.
Yes.. Your computer should be in the same location as my 95 I believe.. If not this may help.. www.pullapart.com/video-library/videos/how-to-pull-a-honda-computer-honda-accord-1997-2002/#:~:text=Once%20you've%20got%20everything,by%20these%2010%20millimeter%20fasteners.

Mines burnt like the one you got out the junk yard what would cause that

did you have the same key system for the computer that worked or did you have the computer reprogrammed to the original key?

I have a 94 accord and I put a 96-97 accord computer?
Possibly yes but you have to match the numbers on the side of the computer.. This video may help:th-cam.com/video/k6cNSNi0R5s/w-d-xo.html
Did you ever try to replace the capacitor to fix the board?
Maybe one day but no, not yet..
Can you do the same thing in a 1998 Honda Accord 2.3l changing out the computer
Yes.. Your computer should be in the same location as my 95 I believe.. If not this may help..
