    Given how important it was for the history of the Yakuza and Japan in general, it could be interesting to make a deep dive into the bubble economie of the late 1980s.

      I thought about getting into that topic in more detail for this video but i felt it took the focus away from Ishii too much. Giving it its own video is a great idea, i'll put it on my list!

    Another amazing video. His luck really started at the end of the war. “Graduated at the top of your class? Here, become a torpedo for us…hang on, never mind, war is over.”

      That whole Kamikaze and Kaiten stuff is still so crazy to think about! The fact that they'd put one of their best students inside one of those things really shows how desperate Japan was during the end of the war

    After wrapping up this video, i stumbled upon this cool little video that offers a look at Ishii Susumu's actual house! It's in Japanese, but still an interesting watch, even if you don't speak the language: t.ly/l8xH0

      KK Park, Myanmar. A walled up slave camp in Myanmar that primarily operate as a scam call centre and human trade run by triads.
      Their affiliates are now in Japan. Please do a deep dive when u uncovered that.
      Thanks.

    12:02 I love that chase music from Yakuza is your default ambiance for discussing people hustling, wheeling and dealing, scheming, wire-pulling, etc. 🤣😂🤣😂
    It conjures up "making it big" montages from 80s crime movies like Scarface. 🤣😂
    Awesome work!

    I just discovered your channel today, and really like the quality and content! Is there any chance you could make a video on Nobusuke Kishi. He may be THE most important Japanese figure of the 20th century. The guy was the Himmler of Imperial Japan in Manchuko China, the benefactor of all the Yakuza, Industrialist, and the Imperial Army during WW2, and the founder and financier of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan that’s dominated postwar politics. He dominated Japanese life from the shadows for the majority of the 20th century before his death in 1987.
    You’d think somebody like that would be some bondesque type super villian, but apparently he was a hardcore partygoer and whoremonger. He was a really sick and disgusting individual.

    • @anikihistory
      @anikihistory  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually talked a bit about Kishi in the Kodama Yoshio video, since they were pretty damn close following WW2. But you're right, that guy might actually deserve his own video in the future, i'll keep it in mind 🙏🏻

      the Yakuza is never that intimidating or dangerous when compared to the triads to begin with, even as of now, today the triads owns swaths of land in Myanmar as walled up slave camps to do telecom scam while conducting slave trading.
      The Yakuza was not even half of that in its height. Search KK Park on the internet, that is the tip of the iceberg.

    Wow thank you for making this channel I appreciate you this channel is my dream come true I have been searching for Yakuza documentaries on here since like 2012 and I never found anything except Documentaries with firsthand accounts No actual Yakuza with real names history what piqued my interests was the video about A Gangsters Paradise explaining how the Yakuza owned that extremely large building in Japan and it was full of residential units Casinos and strip clubs I was utterly in awe that one man could accomplish owning one building with help of course I would watch that over and over and hope someone would post the full thing Your channel is a treat and like I said a dream come true THANK YOU
