    Loved watching your trip around Ireland.. The reason there aren't bins provided here anymore is because the cost of having our bins emptied is very expensive and people were disposing of all their household rubbish in the litter bins provided so most councils got rid of them... Hopefully you'll come back here again and the Midlands all along the river Shannon is beautiful

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We will certainly be back to see everything we missed. I do wish the Irish people were not being fleeced for the removal of their rubbish. Its time government reined in the private companies making a fortune out of what should be a public service provided at cost. I will get off my soap box now. 👍

      Hi David I don’t think we’ve actually done a video on levelling the van although occasionally we have mentioned using ramps.
      To be honest our van is so small that I can just sense when it is level without having to use any sort of spirit level or other device. Carol has trouble doing this and I’m just wondering whether it’s my experience as a motorcycle rider that’s giving me that sense of balance. I have download ed an app that I will try next time we’re out in it. If it’s any good I’ll probably show it.

    Hi Ken and Carol, I am learning so much from your videos, thank you. Can you tell me how you fasten your blackout curtain between the front seats and back of the van please. Also how do the magnets work on glass? Thanks, Michelle

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to hear they are useful Michelle. The blackout curtain is sewn around a broom handle that rests in the slots for the roof bed. It can just be rolled up when not needed and stuffed between the pole and the roof. It works really well and is quick to put up and down. When the roof is up we roll it around the pole and put it on the shelf at the front. The magnets are actually gripping to the metal under the plastic edging around where they cut them out. It just looks like its clinging to glass but its not 😏👍

      Hi Phil. That has occurred to us and yes we make a small amount of money from advertising. Having said that I think we would really need to register it as a business so that there was some legitimacy to the claim if we were to be stopped. On the other hand though we also need to take into consideration the local communities response to seeing us wild camping and the anger that might create. During the last lockdown a number of full timers had quite a few problems and threats. We were out for a walk today in our local town and I have to say I detected a totally different attitude and feeling to this 2nd lockdown. People seemed very relaxed and we noticed that more businesses have clearly been identified as essential e.g. Robert Dyas. It will be interesting to see how it pans out going forward.

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are places we park that if we show we are in the van we could get asked to move by local residents. Other places we don’t care who sees us. As for someone breaking in I would just deal with that if it happened but the chances of that are incredibly low as we are careful about where we park.
