I saw Suzume in a movie theater. The animation was stunning and was so worth seeing on a large screen. The concept was interesting,
and while the story was a bit weak, it was full of emotion. I also appreciated the nature theme and religious motifs that I'm used to seeing in Ghibli films. I recommend it! I still have to see Your Name!

woaa let's drag emmie to the world of manhwa 😍but I recommend you to read "Villain s are destined to die" first (I remember you have it on your shelf!) because the art is so so pretty and the storyline is very interesting (about a girl waking up in otome game and is destined to die according to the game storyline).

Some books just become a part of you. A part of your soul and being. Some take you on a journey and cause you to grow in a different direction than you ever expected. I've been a reader my whole life and now at 26, I can vividly remember books I read in my tweens and teens because they just meant that much to me
@@e4mivery nicely put. I didn't mean to sound ignorant, I'm genuinely intrigued by book culture. I'm 27 myself and have read only a dozen novels at this point. I can get what you're saying from the lens of movies and TV. Never was a big fan of books apart from comics and encyclopaedias. I love stories though-very much. I read my first novel in college (pressured by a friend & too agreeable to say no), it was a growling process for me-took me two months to finish that Robin Cook novel. Although, absorbing stories that way woke me up in a way school reading never did. I read Harper Lee, Sydney Sheldon and Paulo Coelho after that, still as slow as ever but highly rewarding nonetheless. I wanted to pursue filmmaking as a career, but instead of going at it from the technical aspects, I choose the feels-the stories-the writing. And instead of studying creative writing, I thought it was better to immerse myself in literature first, cus, to me, it was important to understand humanity before anything else and I've found that there's no better way than through literature. So, here I am trying to get my master's degree in English Literature and following Emmie because I really liked her Catcher in the Rye video. That novel was in my syllabus, but apart from required reading, it's been my favourite thing to experience-not just read-even better than my top films. I am still a complete amature at this-1000 books is very intimating-but I also have a new found drive to go on that monumental journey.

Wayward was a 3/5 stars for me. I liked the witchy theme, but it just didn’t really hit for me. It wasn’t anything special in my opinion.

audiobooks are not reading. reading means actively extracting information, not just receiving it, which is listening.
