Well said Ms. Hendrix. I'm a teacher in Florida, and teaching gets harder and harder every year. Eighth graders who can't read, and I mean literally can't read. How did they get to eighth grade? Social promotion was supposed to end. BS it did.
I am relatively new to public education. I became a teacher after retiring from law enforcement after 27 years & a 5 year college adjunct career. The comments made by an actress resonate with me. The indifference of the Superintendent speaks to me. Of all the worthless TV shows to make it to DVD, it is an iron injustice that Boston Public has not been released on DVD. I ordered a homemade box set but the quality is so poor (worse than this video), some of the DVD's are unwatchable. Why do you suspect this brief but popular & powerful series was moved to a different time slot ushering it's demise? Why do you think this poignant drama has never been released as a DVD box set? The truth and public education are incompatible.
Tell the truth and shame the devil…I’ll be retired from my teaching career twelve years this coming June. It hasn’t changed that much in terms of pointing the finger(s), children are even more disrespectful, etc.

The sister had everybody's number and none of them couldn't challenge the truth, instead of following their true heart they choose to follow rules that has nothing to do with educating the public or the students
Please don’t say that. We do still have teachers like this. Many teachers, including myself, bust our backs everyday for our students. Meanwhile we’re still dealing with these same issues. No respect from students or their parents, no funding from our states, and yet we’re the problem? Schools are part of a community and that means that to bring up good children, it’s every adult’s job to make it work. It’s not that “they don’t make teachers like this anymore” it’s that good teachers are getting tired of being treated like shit. Tired of being blamed for everything. We are tired. Good teachers are saying “I don’t deserve this” and they’re leaving education to go somewhere that they are actually valued
@1088green Well you're 1 of the very few teacher's are like them. Also it starts at home also. Parents don't have structure in thier homes teaching the kids to be respectful and life values and also a lot of these kids don't come from a home that has structure. I agree you 👍
