In the 90's I got a similar "trick" Frisbee for participation in a school fundraising event. This frisbee had a cone in the center for doing finger tricks, but it was a solid piece of plastic. It was my favorite Frisbee ever. I think it was actually a rebranded "Spinjammer Pro."
Man, I just watched a 3 minute commercial of this thing from their company and the entire 3 minutes were just some old guy spinning it on his fingers he didn't even throw it one time! For some unknown reason I watched a bunch of their commercials and they were lame as heck. It made me come to the realization that I have no life lol!
Never bought a frisbee. In the 70’s as kids we used to get free promotional frisbees from our neighbor. His Australian Shepherd “Casey” was in a Kal Kan dog food commercial catching a frisbee and the company kept sending them free dog food and yellow frisbees with the Kal Kan logo on them. We used to play frisbee with the dog and he never missed. They were a bit chewed but still flew fine. Good, simpler times.
@@stevestark4958 why the three piece construction Steve? Your EZ-spin from the 80's wasn't, and the finger gripping points are moulded into the discs body, so the filler pieces appear to be completely superfluous, unless there's some active patent to work around
I think it would be cool when you do your best and worst of the year products at the end of the year to throw in a bloopers of the year video too. Always love watching your reviews and I’m glad your son got to join in on this one.
There was a version of this back in the late '80s or early '90s that had basically all these features except it was molded into a single piece design so it was bulletproof. It almost seems like they have gone backwards on product design here. The center part had a cone that stuck up through the center of the disc so you could spin it on the palm of your hand in theory.
I had something like this years ago. It had kind of a triangle pyramid in the middle to allow you to look kool like you had skills when spinning it on your finger. :)
Spin jammer back in the day was very similar. Was dicontinued because people would try to catch it spinning on their finger and would jam or break a finger.
You CAN throw a frisbee forehand as well, it's a slightly different grip but it works well. If you're doing delay tricks _maybe_ that centerpiece would help, but I think it adds too much weight to be worth it. From what I see, trying to get velocity and launch angle right throwing from that centerpiece is awkward at best. You can give it more spin, probably, but that's about it.
