I feel like I have seen this before. Is it a reupload or am I just having a moment?

No, insanity has not struck yet, S. I always do a complete run video and if it is much more than 30 minutes I cut it in half as the average view time is only around 7 or 8 minutes so I can get ‘2 videos for the price of 1’. As I still had the full run, I decided to publish it as well as Part 2.

I keep wondering where you have the camera, as I wondered if you might be in the way of people getting on or off or accessing the myki machine. I also wanted to ask a few questions about driving the tram, but I don't know if you are the actual driver

The camera is always in the public space. It is very small and compact and attached to a window to the driver’s left. It is in nobody’s way. It is very small and unobtrusive and usually the driver does not know it is there. I was a driver around 1990 so I understand how the system works and often drivers will ‘talk shop’ with me which helps me keep up to date. What else did you want to know?

@@tressteleg1 I forgot, sorry. I will have to check the video again soon, as I think it was about observations about things in the video that the driver did

@@tressteleg1sorry, I forgot about this for a while and then it took me a while to find my comment again. I think I was going to ask where the bell button is. Also I'm not sure if it's this one or another video where a driver seemed to hold his finger on a button (indicator or doors) I wondered if there was a reason for that

@@granthogden4732 Thinking back many years, from memory there was a red button for the bell on the console of the Z, A, and B class trams. As for holding a button, you give no details of its colour or at what point in the video you saw this, but there was a button on the panel which should be held when starting on a hill. This applied the disc brakes to stop the tram from rolling backwards before the motors took over.

Most bells are loud enough outside and most people respond. However some trams also have horns, such as that the Gold Coast trams whose horns are rather loud. Sydney’s George St. trams also have horns but I have doubts about their loudness. I don’t especially recall any Melbourne tram horns but maybe some classes do, but I did not hear them.

It would be a long slow ride with a maximum of 60 or so kilometres per hour!
