Roberto Carlos was ans still remains my all time favorite player. I call him the Blue Print. We grade left backs to him. He created the modern day left back. He's know for his amazing legt foot, free kicks, the band AND DEFENSE. Real Madrid went from him to Marcelo, both amazing.
I don't think he's known for his defensive abilities tho.

Every og knows how great Roberto Carlos was. Roberto was an artist but he could also defend his ass off. He wasn't afraid to get dirty and tackle someone in the box. Roberto Carlos is in my top 5 for sure. That left foot was lethal attacking as well. He could cross the ball 40 yards on target. And them shots from 15 yards outside the box stung the gloves of every keeper that had the pleasure of stopping one.
Best free kick ever: R. Carlos v France (Tournoi de France, 1997). Simply unforgetable. Decades later, i still remember it clearly.
