It’s embarrassing that I even have to say this but I really appreciate that you didn’t film in the hospital or make James’s injury clickbait for this video. I think that’s something a lot of mommy vloggers would do and I really respect that you have your priorities and boundaries straight! I just know you are a great mom ❤
I think the main reason that there aren’t trucks in Europe is also because they have smaller roads and less parking and it would be hard to get around with a big truck.. their public transportation is so advanced people don’t have a need to buy a truck or big cars especially since they are very expensive .
Totally accurate! Having a car is like the least of our priorities, I think US and maybe Canada is a very car dependent city, like almost everyone has a car, you also have school buses, that blows my mind🤯🤯 but cars are not really expensive.. Whoa, so early! I so loved all your Instagram stories about the trip, and if you guys are willing, I would definitely appreciate you guys sharing your itinerary ✈️💕
Can’t even explain the joy I feel watching James live his best baby life 🥲 I’m 30 weeks pregnant with our first baby, it’s a boy as well, and seeing James makes me SO freaking excited. 😍
I disagree with Marcus... as someone who lived both in the US and Europe, Europe is far better. Our quality of life is better, our healthcare system is amazing, our cities are far more beautiful, such rich cultures and languages everywhere and people are happier & healthier
fully agree. as someone who lives in one of the best places in the us (new york city), i would still move to paris in a heartbeat. transportation is better, everything is more affordable, work/life balance is better, i can go on
My son fell and hit his ear on the end table when he was 2. They strapped him down on a stretcher and they couldn’t even attempt stitches so they ended up gluing it. One of the most traumatizing things ever as a new parent. I empathize with you Kristin! ❤ 😢 Poor James 🥺
That was the best vlog ever. I was laughing so hard at how stinking cute James is in his cow costume. I don't even care a tiny bit that you forgot to end it 🤣🤣🤣
So hilarious, I just got back after 3 months in Europe, and my first meal was also breakfast at Chick Fil A. Love it, and loved following you guys on your journey.
Kris! What happened to James happened to me when I was younger too! First off, I’m glad James is doing better! Second - I was playing with my dog by the fireplace and tripped and hit my head on the corner of the fireplace. I had a total of 30 stitches (15 lower layer and 15 outer layer) & have a scar right above my eyebrow where it was deeply cut! I remember crying to my grandma who was home with me (I was about 4 or 5) and she just made cookies and said, “do you want a cookie!?” 😭 she took me to the hospital and they restrained me down too. My mom told me that I was telling the doctors I wanted a mirror to see what they were doing!? 😂🫣
I did something similar at 2. I cut in between my eyes open falling onto an open dresser drawer. They used butterfly stitches on me. My mom was traumatized but 22 years later (I’m 24) I’m all good and a small scar. You and James will be okay momma!! I know it’s hard to see but he will be okay!
the same thing happened to my brother when he was like 3 years old and on the way back from the hospital, my parents turned around to see my bro in his car seat PULLING OUT THE STITCHES. they had to turn right back around and get more stitches 😅😅😅
Eww! I'm sorry that happened to you but I'm sure this is the reason I never became a mom. I couldn't deal with all the traumatizing things in my child's life 😭
@@catthare omg noooo! Luckily my doctor decided that butterfly stitches would work and it wouldn’t leave a larger scar. Idk how it worked because it was DEEEEEPPPP but my scar is barely visible now unless you look for it and it’s right on my forehead now. 😂
@@your1supporter yes! My mom was traumatized. It was so bad, I even remember lol. I was trying to get a furby from the drawer and tripped on something when I was running and the corner of the drawer barely missed my eyes. I’m just lucky it hit right between and I didn’t lose an eye! I just feel bad for my mom. 😂😂😂
@@DelaneyWalker Oh my goodness!!! Poor you! That sounds just like doing normal activity with such a traumatic outcome. I'm glad you didn't lose an eye. That would've been terrible.
Man, this video was honestly really encouraging just seeing you be real and show us real life, real mess, just everything. Before this I was watching a Christian couples video and they just seemed like they had their life together perfectly and nothing wrong ever happened and it was making me feel like I was doing something wrong and made me fall into a comparison trap so I turned it off and eventually started watching this. I loved the randomness and just real life of this video, thanks for putting out what life really looks like and not masking it to make yourself look better. Appreciate this content. Thanks for being genuine
I can’t believe the doctors put his hands behind him in a pillow case! If James ever has to do anything medical related, such as shots, check out comfort positions! Can make it more comfortable for the child and Parents too 😊
Our one year old just got stitches between his eyebrows around the same time as James! He fell into a rocking chair while walking. We had to fly for a trip 4 days later and get his stitches removed while traveling 😭 The entire experience was definitely traumatic for me too. I hope James is doing better now 🤍

I live in Mt Juliet TN (close to Nashville) and we go to a place called NIDO. James would love it. It's an indoor play place for children 5 years old and under. I have been following your channel since you were in college way before you got married to Marcus. Love you girl. Hope to see you around Nashville!!
I’ve had random cats show up during traumatic times in my life, it’s like someone just dropped a cat out of the sky to keep me company. My Stanley cup keeps me drinking water too, I love waking up & having ice water on my night stand without getting up 😂
Can I just say as an European I can’t understand why you always have to use cars in the US, maybe that is one of the few reasons you didn’t saw trucks, a car is one of our last priorities.. So I hope you guys really enjoyed that side of Europe❤ much love from Barcelona😃
I think a big factor is that sometimes things aren’t within walking distance for us over here because it’s more spread out (depending on the area). And unfortunately our cities weren’t designed for walking so sometimes it’s dangerous because of how the roads are laid out. I wish things were more walkable!
The reason is because the US is much larger, so everything is more spread out. It's just logistics. The larger an area is and the more spread out the cities are, the more you need cars to go places.
As a European living in America, I can say that you definitely need a car to get around. Most of the US is rural and spread out, and the towns and cities have very poor infrastructure & low quality/availability of public transportation. Destinations are usually not close enough to walk or bike and aside from a small handful of major cities, the transportation available just isn’t built for that kind of population. NYC is pretty well built (it still has its’ problems) but in Pennsylvania where I live it’s very difficult to get from one town/city to another. The cost of owning a car is also much lower than using public transportation daily. 😩
😭 My kid needed to be held down in the hospital for some really uncomfortable but small procedures, and I was not prepared for how traumatized we would both be. It was horrible. 😭
Oh no! It’s harder on us parents I think when they get hurt. My daughter had a similar injury at about the same age and I had to hold her down, actually lay on her, and it was awful. I was by myself because my husband was active duty and deployed at the time. She doesn’t remember a thing, but mommy sure does 🥺 BUT, I’m just gonna say that James is the cutest darn cow I’ve ever seen, and his little bell jingling and the little tail wagging when he walks is too much! ❤
Kristen the thing why you didn’t drink so much water in some Europ is Because water here is so much better by the quality, that is why we are said to drink 1,6L per day which is optimal. You’re body didn’t ask for much water because it didn’t needed. And USA water is good but not as some European countries, also 3 to 4L is just abnormal for us here to drink

Oo!! I’ve seen that for *some* parents with toddlers that it works to ask the doctor if they could simulate the tie down to the parents while the toddler watches. It’s not a for sure resolve all the time but I think it helps the anticipation for them! Of course this might not work for all kiddos but maybe it’ll help in the future for things at the doctor 🫶🏼
