    Chemical engineers having 10 years of experience in India generally earns average around dollar 1200 to 1800 pm in O &G/ petroleum

      I see, its similar to Mexico, and of course much lower as any other developed country such as USA, European, Japan, etc...

      @@ChemicalEngineeringGuy it is useless to compare salaries because salaries depend upon the expenditure like rent,grocery,food and price of things .so where salaries are low in dollars there also the expenses are low .some countries like Germany charge high income tax and in USA living expenses are high depending upon the states like in California it's high in rent .Texas is less in rent with low tax .in India the monthly living expenses for a single person is 200-250 usdollars to live in a good way .so earning 500 us dollar I'm India is good .you just can't compare countries with salary.you should make a video of how much chemical engineer can save in different countries living a same lifestyle them it would make a little bit sense.

    In India , the highest pay for a chemical engineer is 8007$ (us dollars) and the highest pay after getting enough experience and promotions is 76,258$ . But here a lot of things are much cheap which are necessary for day to day activities except the electronic appliances .
    I m a sophomore and I would try my best to migrate to some other country .

    • @shanu6478
      @shanu6478 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And yess , I am talking about an oil and gas industry which is called OIL AND GAS CORPORATION OF INDIA . It is the best indian chem engineers dream to get a job in it .

  • @shanu6478
    @shanu6478 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you think the oil and gas (Petroleum) industry is in the downfall ? If it is then the things are going to be very stressful for people like me who want to work in this industry and want a decent pay as well . What's you take on it ?

    • @ChemicalEngineeringGuy
      @ChemicalEngineeringGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really a downfall, but a chaotic one, and will keep being a chaotic one as oil & gas is still important, yet, other industries are coming to substitute many applications (slowly)... I would still go for O&G, as it is a backbone, worst case scenario you just change industries with a great CV

    For the analysis of international salaries, wouldn't you need to factor in the cost of living where you live?
    Like $500/month USD might get you a lot further in India than it would get you in the US.

    • @ChemicalEngineeringGuy
      @ChemicalEngineeringGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure thing! But those are just raw numbers, of course you gotta consider lifestyle, health care, education, transportation, expenses such as education loans, etc... Its kinda hard to state a unique salary

    • @ChemicalEngineeringGuy
      @ChemicalEngineeringGuy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@호떡집 It depends on lots of things, specially if you are willing to change from industry, the main problem I see with niche engineerings, such as Aerospace, is that you will typically stick to it... Either design, operation, manufacture, logistics, comercial, marketing all will be attached to Aerospace industry, if you are willing to relocate, this is no problem, I know there is plenty fo aerospace industry. In the other hand, ChemE is much broader so you can always change of type of industry... Still, if you are a great fan of Aerospace, I will go for it :)

      Only focuses in that is hard... you need to choose your favorite area, there are many degrees which will cover "advanced heat transfer" or "mass transfer & separation processes" as well as "adv. chemical reactions" that will help, but as far sa I know, most masters will try to be "broad" as well
