My biggest complaint is, for $3,500 this should be a family device. There’s not a reason in the world they can’t allow us to set up multiple profiles, but they don’t. When I want to show something to my wife or kids, the one-time setup is too tedious for it to be worth it.
Glad to see an unbiased opinion of AVP. I absolutely love mine. It’s fully transformed my workflow! I’ve got the Annapro V2 and I use it without the light seal.
completely agreed.
I mean, his channel has vision pro in the name- is it an unbiased opinion or is he confirming your biases? (Just something to think about)
I felt it is biased
You dont even know what unbiased means🤦🏾♂️ you just love hearing what you already think
@ Dang, you got me. I was secretly hoping someone would expose my biased love for a piece of equipment. How will I recover?
Apple created the most powerful VR gaming device and then decided you’re going to sit on your couch and work on spreadsheets.
For me getting the Annapro has made all the difference to comfort. Now no discomfort using. The wide Mac virtual display also makes using the Vision Pro special for productivity and worthwhile for certain work referencing multiple documents. For video watching the Vision Pro is second to none. I watch far more films since owning the Vision Pro and look forward to the immersive experience - it is like have your own movie theatre. I think the Vision Pro enhances your life if you can afford and justify. Also best for people living, or working mostly on their own, as it does cut you off from the outside world to a large extent. I never use when around my wife or son, or when in the office with other people. Perfect when I am at home on my own, in hotel room, or solo travelling. All in all, like the Apple Watch, the Vision Pro is something nice to have, but not essential to work or life. For me I use on average of 3-4 times a week, but some weeks every day, and others not at all.
Been an absolute blast for the first year and love my AVP! I dont work from it (not possible to take this to my office) but I do my own tasks and mostly use it for entertainment. I cant imagine not having one anymore. I cant imagine taking a flight without it anymore. I still watch TV with my family or go to the movie theater, but I’m constantly thinking how much less of an experience it is compared to the AVP. Definitely the next version needs to be smaller and less expensive and more comfortable, but the version 1 of almost any product has a lot of room to improve. Looking forward to the improvements over the years!
Still have mine from Day 1 and is my main content consumption device. It still wows me every time I use it. It is still astonishing tech even a year later. As a movie machine it is absolutely stunning. Like a personal IMAX with little compromise visually. Audio is amazing too. But the negatives... oh boy. I did have to mod it with two solo loops and a 3D printed adapter though. Comfortable enough; I can use it for about 3-4 hours at a time. After a while though... it's a bit much. Cost - it's too much. It is heavy. It is isolating... perfect for someone who lives alone or travels a lot. This is a classic VR issue; Meta is losing billions upon billions on VR because it is just an isolating limited use tech. It is not a mass market device. But for me, it is a dream device.... I just wish it was lighter.
Love my AVP, have had it for months, use it daily. Movies, shows, immersive, ps5 remote play, and recently pcvr with surreal touch controllers, etc. Use Annapro A2, comfort 0 issues. Plus only paid half retail, win win.
Have a look at Simon Sinek's videos on Apple marketing. This product is only for early adopters who will then influence innovators who will influence the masses into buying this, but that will come when it's ready for the masses. I'd guess maybe Vision Pro 4/5
Honestly, the price WON'T go down! Look at macBook Pro, iPad Pro, mac Pro, and iPhone Pro releases. Prices went up and up in every model release. Probably the Apple Vision Pro 2 would be priced the same as the current AVP.
My concern is whether Apple will continue developing apps and updating the operating system and whether developers will continue creating apps.
Still looks like 2D windows in 3D space… 2.1D ?
annapro addition make this a very great device. the major AVP dislike for me is the pop up keyboard. I use virtual display a lot too and so physical keyboard is available but when I am not the pop up keyboard is still terrible. in Canada $5000 to start (I have inserts and got the 512). is pricey...was going to get a used car but got the AVP instead:). but I too use it daily for productivity and entertainment. Thanks for the honest review. I aligned with almost 100% of what you shared. Without saying where I work, I give AVP demos and everyone walks away wowed. Most of time people that return the device is because they were given a subpar demo and didn't learn how to wear it right.
The KKCOBVR halo headstrap with the AVP battery suspended from the back works very well for me.
Great vid. Agree with all these points. Still loving my AVP. I feel lucky to have one. Such a joy to use.
Great to see how much the Vision Pro has evolved. The productivity leap with visionOS 2.3 is transformative. Did you buy it outright, or did a demo convince you? For me, the demo was all it took.
I actually did two demos, and bought it on my second demo!
@@VisionProforNerds What specific part of the Vision Pro demo sealed the deal for you (and everyone else here)? For me, the spatial photos/videos-like the birthday party scene-and Alicia Keys’ immersive video were mind-blowing. That blend of personal nostalgia and artistic immersion really showcased Vision Pro’s magic. 🎥✨
I feel like I am the only one who does not have comfort issues with the solo loop it’s honestly so nice to me and not that heavy after 2 months
Since visionOS 2.2 I’ve found myself reaching for mine more and more. The ultra wide is really good + continuity for controlling visionOS apps with the Mac’s mouse and keyboard. Love positioning visionOS apps around the Mac display.
Also been enjoying it for watching episodic shows like Arcane in a private cinema.
IMO all it needs is to come down in price and get lighter, but really hope they don’t reduce any of the specs/capabilities to do it.
You can use a track pad for small things. I run Davinci Resolve for iPad with it.
You leave the impression you can control the virtual display screen with your eyes and pinching. Is that a correct impression? So far I am only able to control it with a mouse and keyboard. Can you explain the setting so I can do with eye tracking and pinching. Thanks. I also use it every day from 2 to 5 or 6 hrs, depending what needs to get done. Thanks for your thoughtful approach to this product.
@@PapaSteven48 mouse and keyboard it just a window
I have been using it each day during waking hours (I mostly keep it plugged in whilst immobile) and my life is falling apart. No one knows me anymore. I really love it but not sure if it was the right move to buy it.
I love using my Vision Pro but I don’t understand why you have to have a Mac 🖥️ to use the big display. It’s got a M chip so it should do that. And they have high memory so it does not make sense. I do love, of course, watching TV and shows on it. It’s one of the best experiences. And the submerge short film they did is just the future of filmmaking and I can’t wait to see more.
they need to move the processing to the battery pack
I pretty much agree with everything here. Same sentiment about productivity so far.
10:00 I’ve thought this so many times recently.
I should watch their introduction of the AVP, again.
from minutes 8 to 9 he gave a very valuable insight to Apple that I'm even surprised they still haven't acted on.... communication on the Vision Pro is more about the tech of it than its usefulness... which gets majority of regular people confused, and so they default to the price (which is something they know and understand) and $3500 is A LOT for the average person. great video
Thanks!
In terms of productivity, given the situation that you are using the Vision Pro together with a Mac, it is important that user is actually getting more things done on this combo than purely on a Mac. The investment on the Vision Pro would easily double or triple your asset management, user has to justifies the investment with the improved productivity.
My main concern is the display is not that good with high prescription lens. I tried once where I found the edges are blue
The best eye tracking I had was the first 6 weeks I owned it last February 🤷🏻♂️ flawless back then
Great video! I’m waiting for the 2nd gen to get mine, got my $3500 ready on the side 😂, I just don’t have a real use for it yet, hoping 2nd gen will get more features like gaming and better battery life and ofc comfortable
Great points, Apple really needs to sell the utility of the Vision Pro rather than its specs, I don't think they've even done a commercial for the Vision Pro? That said, Apple knows this is a bleeding-edge, stretch device for most people and its very much a work in progress that they're still testing and refining so they aren't going to market it like an iPhone or even a Mac. Once they can bring the cost and weight down they'll start treating it more like another product in their lineup but don't think they'll start gen 2 at any less than $1999. Also, Spigen recently released a strap for Vision Pro that goes with the Solo Band which apparently is very effective, it's the same style as the Anapro but the design matches Vision Pro better and I think it's more adjustable.
Do you use the AVP with optical Zeiss inserts? I decided to purchase VR-Rock lenses. I was really worried that the Mac Virtual Display wouldn’t be sharp enough, but your review reassured me lol. Really want to use this for video editing while I travel. I’m flying to Dubai next month and will finally get one!
Funny, you ask, I always use it with the Zeiss optical inserts, and have no issues. Also, I actually use it to edit video a lot, and it’s amazing with the wide or ultra wide screen. I actually edited this video on the vision Pro in da Vinci resolve.
@@VisionProforNerds Awesome! Thanks
Going with 3rd-party inserts is a mistake, because they aren’t integrated with the AVP’s eye-tracking calibration system.
I used 3rd-party lenses for about a month until the Zeiss lenses were available in my area. Night and day difference.
Get the Zeiss lenses.
@@RolandDobbins I wish I could but it's such a pain. I'll have to travel to Berlin, get a prescription from a doctor, send to german address, all without knowing the language.
I found a 3rd party lenses by vr-wave, they claim they send you lenses with a pairing code.
Amazing product but another 3 cons: for this price it should have gaming (real gaming) / store still only open for selected countries / it’s a personal device so you need more than one (what makes purchase even more expensive)
The point on messaging is spot on.
Waiting for AVP 3.0 - Slash the price; slash the weight; ramp up the content and native apps 👍
Great video! I love mine as well!!!!
Have you tried chat gpt using built in camera?
Not yet, but will try!
@@VisionProforNerds let me know If it works! Very curious to know if it can recognize the environment you are in, sort of see what you see and navigate and assist you. I think its exactly where it is all going with these headsets
I love mine!
Saving for a house blows when reviews like these exist! If anyone wants to gift me theirs I’ll gladly take it off your hands! (AVP or house, either one!)
If I could do both, I would!
Steve would’ve marketed the 💩 out of this.
Somewhat OT: I think people have paid close to this amount of money for bigger screen TV’s. And things the best “tv” I’ve ever owned.
I’m not sure if Apple “failed” to market this product. After all, they’re a marketing company, right?
I think it was all part of their plan to target early adopters and developers. They’ll keep refining it over the years, making it lighter and adding more apps. Then, they’ll probably market it more widely to the average consumer.
My concern is that I buy Vision Pro (which is relatively not new already) now and soon there will be the second version
Well so far all the rumors say a new one isn't coming out for a while. Earliest reports say late 2025 to early 2026.
@@VisionProforNerds Good to know. I'm so on the edge of pulling the trigger. Your video has helped the effort (in a great way). Also the comment section has fueled my large eyes as well.
Mmmh I doubt a bit about your experience using it without mouse and keyboard . It would be interesting to screen recording a working session and see how you manage . Just typing is a nightmare
I didn’t have that issue. Thankfully.
Apple Vision Pro is an super cool tech….Virtual/Augemented Reality is the future experience in computing and mobile tech.
I really want to...want...one of these things more lol. I'd be all in on one if Apple pushed gaming with it. I still hope in the future, but as it was a year ago, and as it is still today...Apple hasn't given me enough reason to really want one of these. /is sad
For this price it better go to work FOR ME!!
once they mentioned that price I went "OH WELL ANOTHER 5 YEARS" :P
😂😂
"This intro intentionally left blank" ?!
I’m sure you can guess I’m not a fan of long TH-camr intros, ha ha.
Noup, this is on Apple because it was marked way too expensive
the FOV wil throw you off
Don’t really see the point of paying thousands of dollars for a laptop to then pay 3.5k for a device to make that device a monitor. Just seems silly
I hope Apple release further viewing Environments ! The movie watching experience is iconic !
I have loved the VP productivity with the Virtual Display on my Mac. My problem was that I also needed to use a Virtual Display with my work PC.. for Autodesk products. But early on there was no way of doing a Remote Desktop with the Vision Pro. So I had to return it. Can you tell me if the Windows app (Remote Desktop replacement) or any other Remote Desktop app is out there with a sharp and crisp resolution? I want to remote into my work PC while traveling and not wanting to bring both my MacBook Pro and the Vision Pro.
There were workarounds I saw but I didn’t love them and haven’t revisited them in some time.
if i could buy one id gooooooooooooooon
I don’t think so. You use every single day.
the cope is hard in the comments :))
It a toy
When Samsung headset comes out with Android XR, it will prolly kill AVP. Full android apps to use compared to limited apps on AVP is a no brainer.
Hey great video….but i really have to say that making an entire channel based on a failed product that ABSOLUTELY NOBODY has probably wasn’t the best idea….if i were you i would switch it to an “Apple” channel that way you can have a larger audience
Like two big for travel
