The Ramchargers were the first drag racers who were NOT hotrodders. They were automotive engineers and approach drag racing from and engineer's perspective. I was a drag racing and Chrysler fan all through my childhood during the Sixties and loved the Ramchargers.
Oh those late nights testing their factory Innovations against the GM teams and Ford teams out there on Woodward Ave. And that Urban Legend of the Black Ghost, seemingly creeps our of the fog in stealth mode to crush all competition. lol What an awesome piece of history/story/there to be proved. lol What a great time to be alive.
Thanks for sharing Steve!!! This was my favorite race team in the 60's and 70's!! My fav was the 1965 Dodge Coronet with those huge stacks sticking out of the engine bay!! I even had that model car I built and cherished! So thanks Steve for a wonderful trip down memory lane! Cheers from Motown, Home of Detroit Muscle! Remember at Bristol Tn. the Ramchargers top fuel car had a reverse gear, everyone else had to push their car back after the burnout.

Me too Kevin! Basically grew up at Martin and worked in the E.T booth at the end of the track handing out time slips that were delivered to us via a horn speaker in the booth. lol Got to meet all the greats from that era! What a time to grow up and be alive!!!
@robertclymer6948 that's great that you worked there.! The old track was cool- so many good times there. The new track is great too. I haven't been there in a few years, but I'm ready to go, hopefully this season.! Thanks for your reply.

One of the first Speed Shops I ever went to was Ramchargers in Livonia & Taylor Mi. The walls were covered in photos of the same cars in this video
