Yep. It disappoints a lot of people who roll down their window to ask how old it is. Or, they ask if it’s a “replica”. It’s just the way they made them for so long without changing much.
The millennials are looking for masculine traits and Kickstarting a motorcycle is considered to be one of them. Never mind all the little Japanese girls who kickstart their Harley Davidson choppers that they imported from the USA. Most of my vintage British motorcycles are kick only. My 1998 1/2 is first year with electric start,my URAL side car outfit.lwanted to put a kicker on my Sportster but my HD mechanic 🧰 said no. All of my 1970's BMW's are kick and electric. Motorcycles make you earn the right to ride them by making you earn it. Now people are too lazy to even push a button. How sad.
That machine is pure gold and heritage
Beautiful sir. OMG, It's an AVL. I am humbly requesting you to post more about this wonderful machine.
Perfect kick start technique for an AVL. Lovely motorcycle.
Thank you sir!
One beauty. Keep the heritage

You gotta feel around for just the right spot to put the piston before kicking it.
Only 2009?

Actually it’s just that the electric start is a weak point on this bike so I kick it.
