you can't get this in your neighborhood butcher shop most dutch butchers nowadays are sellers of meat and get it pre-cut to customers normal demand and this means your butcher won't have a whole leg of pork unless he ordered it for you at extra costs of course! you can search for many years for good contacts like me or just order online I would still come out cheaper but not by much and most would not want to buy a whole pig or half a cow! to get even cheaper p pound! but if you want more for cheap buy lots just a couple of times a year for manageable amounts go online there are grat meat deals to be had!
Meat from the Iberico Pig, is the best tasting meat ever, even the loin, which usually doesn't have a great amount of flavour is superb. Am so envious of the availability of this meat to you. Have only recently found your site, keep up the good work 👍👍👍

Iberico is not a region, it is actually a breed of pigs we have here in Spain. And that is not technically a ham, it is the front leg called "paleta" Iberico Ham is made out of the cured rear legs. Interesting job since we do not eat fresh iberico hams here in Spain, it is mainly cured... Best regards!

Wow that looks good - we have a get together (street party) planned for August bank holiday to celebrate hopefully covid lockdown eased off in a big way so will do this then. Last time I did ribs and Home made sausage for VE day street party a couple of months ago but all had to keep our distance. So I have a question - please can you tell me how many hours till it was ready when you wrapped it.?
