The Iditarod Invitational is a bike race I never thought I would do. However, that all changed when I spoke to Jay Petervary, a legend on the Iditarod trail. After learning more about the trail from Jay, I decided I was ready to face the 350 miles of cold, deserted, Alaskan wilderness. It's the expedition of a lifetime, and one that in reality could cost me my life.

how much did it cost for the bike, gear, plane tickets, food,, everything to make this possible?

Hmmm...that's a good question..I built the bike and gear up over a couple of years, so it wasn't all at once. I also borrowed a sleeping bag and some other extreme cold gear. Probably with travel, and entry fee and some additional gear, I spent $5k....however I use all of the gear for multiple events throughout the year. The experience of riding this trail in remote Alaska in winter: priceless
