Every now and then I find a song I can fully resonate with heart and soul. Ive stayed blindly loyal to toxic people and their enablers all my life.. diminishing making myself small and downplaying what im capable of doing to elevate and better my life in order to please people who were threatened by my existence and never wanted to succeed. I was afraid of stepping on some toes because I was taught to respect them regardless of how they disrespected me.. but 2020 all that changed and this song describes perfectly the changes I've been making in my life... this is my life and I'll make it worth living..
I can fully relate to how you feel bc as of two years ago, on my birthday, I was involved in a toxic relationship and I decided on my special day that enough was enough so I walked away without ever looking back. Since then, I have been working to cut toxic people from my circle for good. There've been so many people who have tried all they could to hold me back, but the more they've tried, the more determined I was to break free. Like you, I didn't want to upset anyone nor disrespect anyone, but how are we wrong for wanting to let go of the things and the people who we have allowed to be in our circle and hold us back? I walked away from yet another toxic relationship nearly 4 months ago and I don't regret it one bit! I know that it was the best thing I could've done bc it was only weighing me down. I now have a job after being unemployed for 2 and a half years. I had to do something different, which has been one of my greatest fears for as long as I can remember. I feel liberated and I have a different glow about life now. I work more and more daily to ride toxic people from my circle. I have done tremendously well with this bc now I am able to count on both of my hands how many people I have left to eliminate from my circle. I feel so much better now that I have began to set boundaries and limits as to the kind of people I want to be surrounded by. Some days are still a challenge for me, but I don't lose hope and I continue to be grateful for the things that are looking up for the better in my life now. I wouldn't trade the life I am working to make better for the miserable life I allowed myself to live before. I don't let others opinions dictate my actions anymore nor do I entertain negativity on any level of any kind! It's a must that I fight to keep my sanity! I refuse to hand it over to anyone! I no longer beat myself up when I mess up now. Some days are better than others, but I manage somehow to pick myself up again and keep it moving. My life may not be as great as I would like it to be, but at least now I know who I am working to better become and how to separate myself whenever necessary from toxic people and negativity. If a person has a problem with the way I live my life and they feel threatened in some way or another about it, well, I have made myself very clear in words and in my actions! I won't apologize for my wanting to be a better person while also be better to myself!!! You and I are both doing the right thing. I may consider getting back on treadmill or walking track in gym again. I can socially distance better in the water though. So I probably will hold off on out of pool walking till things are better.

I can fully relate to how you feel bc as of two years ago, on my birthday, I was involved in a toxic relationship and I decided on my special day that enough was enough so I walked away without ever looking back. Since then, I have been working to cut toxic people from my circle for good. There've been so many people who have tried all they could to hold me back, but the more they've tried, the more determined I was to break free. Like you, I didn't want to upset anyone nor disrespect anyone, but how are we wrong for wanting to let go of the things and the people who we have allowed to be in our circle and hold us back? I walked away from yet another toxic relationship nearly 4 months ago and I don't regret it one bit! I know that it was the best thing I could've done bc it was only weighing me down. I now have a job after being unemployed for 2 and a half years. I had to do something different, which has been one of my greatest fears for as long as I can remember. I feel liberated and I have a different glow about life now. I work more and more daily to ride toxic people from my circle. I have done tremendously well with this bc now I am able to count on both of my hands how many people I have left to eliminate from my circle. I feel so much better now that I have began to set boundaries and limits as to the kind of people I want to be surrounded by. Some days are still a challenge for me, but I don't lose hope and I continue to be grateful for the things that are looking up for the better in my life now. I wouldn't trade the life I am working to make better for the miserable life I allowed myself to live before. I don't let others opinions dictate my actions anymore nor do I entertain negativity on any level of any kind! It's a must that I fight to keep my sanity! I refuse to hand it over to anyone! I no longer beat myself up when I mess up now. Some days are better than others, but I manage somehow to pick myself up again and keep it moving. My life may not be as great as I would like it to be, but at least now I know who I am working to better become and how to separate myself whenever necessary from toxic people and negativity. If a person has a problem with the way I live my life and they feel threatened in some way or another about it, well, I have made myself very clear in words and in my actions! I won't apologize for my wanting to be a better person while also be better to myself!!! You and I are both doing the right thing. I may consider getting back on treadmill or walking track in gym again. I can socially distance better in the water though. So I probably will hold off on out of pool walking till things are better.
