I could imagine an empty warehouse still having a lot of low-frequency ambient sound.
It's really about the perception of sound quality like Lew said. If you feel like the bass is lacking, you should block ambient bass to it 'feels' more bass-like. So no, noise cancellation from people talking isn't necessary but it does actually improve sound quality to some extend!

Lou! I just got my Surface headphones 2 yesterday, and love them. My dog destroyed my Bose 700's and I haven't had a pair for several months. I've been using my workout Beats pro around the house. Needed an over the ear pair so I pulled the trigger on the Surface 2's pair. I absolutely love them. They sound wonderful and am so happy with them. Thank you for your honest reviews.

I have the first version and regarding price and sound quality I am super happy with it.
It also comes with an audio cable and a mic on it for cases that you are out of battery or don't want to use Bluetooth HFP for a meeting call.

The difference in comfort between a brand new versus well used pair of Sony's may be due to the sponges in the earpieces and headband having softened.
It looks more comfortable to begin with. It has more cushion overall

I have the M3s, one of the best headphones I’ve heard in my life and that comes from a sound engineering family.
I recommend people don’t get them, they are so fragile I have had them for less than a year and they have broken in 3 places 😐
Mine broke twice, and the fact that they can't even be paired to 2 devices at the same time makes the Bose NC700 a winner even if the Sony sound a bit better.

I think you find the Sony more comfortable is because you wear them regularly so your used to them , and they get less light over the time and the padding becomes a little softer etc, I know this bc when I upgraded my headphones, the new ones were less comfortable at first, but then after wearing them for 2 days, they overtook the old ones.
business folks also use the mute switch for taking conference calls. Even with small, conference groups, I always mute my phone until I need to speak... Love your videos bro!

the best thing about the surface headphones is really the multiple device connectivity and quick switching. In these days of the zoom conferencing, the hardware mute button has also been a godsend so I don’t have to be tethered to my desk to mute/unmute during meetings.

One thing I would like to see that a lot of reviewers gloss over is PC functionality with these headphones. I have had all sorts of problems with both Bose and Sony headphone PC Bluetooth because they seem to be built around an app ecosystem.
Well since they're Microsoft and Microsoft makes Windows my guess is that they'd work really well.

Volume wheel is amazing once you experience it. I own a pair of LucidSound gaming headphones and both cups have volume wheels. One side is volume the other is chat volume. Every time I switch to another headset, I immediately miss the volume controls.

They are quite good, haven't given the series 2 a try, but the series 1 were good and these are cheaper, a shame that I moved to another country and they have no shipping to where I am :( I'll buy them if so.

Watching video on my 1st Gen model, they replaced my qc35 set, this second Gen must only be ever more of a usurper to the sony/bose throne. Quality construction, great comfort, and the best control scheme. Watch mkbhd's video of the first Gen.
