It's really about the perception of sound quality like Lew said. If you feel like the bass is lacking, you should block ambient bass to it 'feels' more bass-like. So no, noise cancellation from people talking isn't necessary but it does actually improve sound quality to some extend!

Mine broke twice, and the fact that they can't even be paired to 2 devices at the same time makes the Bose NC700 a winner even if the Sony sound a bit better.

I have the first version and regarding price and sound quality I am super happy with it. It also comes with an audio cable and a mic on it for cases that you are out of battery or don't want to use Bluetooth HFP for a meeting call.
I think you find the Sony more comfortable is because you wear them regularly so your used to them , and they get less light over the time and the padding becomes a little softer etc, I know this bc when I upgraded my headphones, the new ones were less comfortable at first, but then after wearing them for 2 days, they overtook the old ones.
The *first pair* Lew showed had a *$75 shipping fee* to *Canada* bringing the *total cost to ~$425* versus the ‘bargain’ pair with a *$60 shipping fee* to Canada bringing that *total to ~$320.* So the _International Warranty_ version is still a bargain saving you > *$100.*
One thing I would like to see that a lot of reviewers gloss over is PC functionality with these headphones. I have had all sorts of problems with both Bose and Sony headphone PC Bluetooth because they seem to be built around an app ecosystem.
7:27 Mic mute switch is something I'd love on all bluetooth headsets given the amount of work calls these days.... Did a search and not many results.... Good feature to have on a headset
the best thing about the surface headphones is really the multiple device connectivity and quick switching. In these days of the zoom conferencing, the hardware mute button has also been a godsend so I don’t have to be tethered to my desk to mute/unmute during meetings.

It looks more comfortable to begin with. It has more cushion overall
I have the M3s, one of the best headphones I’ve heard in my life and that comes from a sound engineering family.
I recommend people don’t get them, they are so fragile I have had them for less than a year and they have broken in 3 places 😐

What did u like about them? I just returned mine bc the sound quality was terrible IMO. Better through cables tho but still way too mid bassy

The external mute is great for Teams meetings. Lets ou have a little mobility during meetings and still answer when needed :).
