I received my Floordrum a few weeks ago. And the least we can say, first of all, is that this object is a great beauty! You can feel the work of a craftsman, it is made with great care and taste. Its wooden design adds a warm side very pleasant to play. But above all, it is the best solution for a guitarist (or any other musician who has free feet!!) to accompany himself. Whether it's a "real drum sound" version or a percussion ensemble, this floordrum is the perfect instrument! Thanks to you my friend, I discovered a new way to play in front of an audience, alone or with my friend, it's just great!
I forgot to mention that the latest version is even more beautiful, simplified in terms of the module and access to the settings. I'm preparing a video to testify it!
Hey Chris ... I am so happy that you enjoy my Floordrum and hearing that you succesfully use it live realy is a great sadisfaction for me. It needed a lot of work and sleepless nights to come to the final version of this instrument and hearing from musicians all around the globe is a great pleasure. I'm keen to see a video from you. THANK YOU
I paid something around 800 euros. A lot of people who saw me on stage came to me afterwards and were surprised that the price was so low…. it's a hand-made piece of work, and a really beautiful one at that, made almost entirely of wood.
I just got my floordrum 2 days ago. It is so much fun looks and sounds great. So easy to use just plug it in and go.The Guy that makes them is a great guy , I live in Canada had no problems shipping. This is the ultimate stomp box. If you want to add some percussion to your playing this is for you.
Just got a floor drum delivered to San Diego CA,USA and its a beautifully crafted instrument. Highly recommended to any solo singer songwriters out there!!!
Is it not getting a bit much to do a whole drumset with the feet and strumm with the fingers? I mean it can be done more or less, but the guy in the vid does not look like he is having fun. Am I seeing this wrong?
@@MrSocko-bh1jb Like all instruments it takes some concentration at the beginning, but I'd say it's much easier to learn than guitar. I mostly use the kick and snare with symbol accents and it sounds great
@@MrSocko-bh1jb Check out Cam Cole. Plays a nearly entire drum kit with his feet while strumming the guitar. Then he adds singing on top of all that. Sounds fucking incredible too, and he seems to thoroughly enjoy it. So I wouldn't say it's "a bit much", it's using your brain to its fullest capacity and defying the conventional notion that it's somehow impossible for one person to literally play many instruments at once. This is unlike those "live looping" artists. As interesting as live looping is, live looping artists are not actually playing all the instruments at once... live looping at its core is literally just multitrack recording, so you're just playing each instrument separately and recording them separately... then you hear all those recordings together. It's not the same thing at all.
@@justinnaramor6050 I know, I got a pretty decent loop pedal at home myself. Great fun if you play alone a lot. I guess it is always a question of what you are used to. I am just fascinated by the floor drums as a thing in general! I really like the kind of trend I see to leave the drum machines and the auto tunes out in order to do it as they did back in my days, when a musician had to have actually mad skillz to even be noticed, or considered for a given band spot! I guess back then you had to be so freakin` good on your one instrument that playing 3 at once just never was something anyone seriously thought about. (Just a guess) Btw, I started to dive into bluesharp with a dash of beatboxing (idealy whilst playing a 6 string at some point, but not yet)
@@MrSocko-bh1jb That's all very interesting indeed! If you like this kind of thing, then you might like that "Cam Cole" artist I mentioned (if you've not heard him yet). He's one of the most interesting one-man bands I've heard, specially when you consider the fact that one-man bands are often seen more as a novelty rather than as a real legitimate musical instrument. Like, Cam Cole actually performs normal concerts and makes normal albums using his one man band approach, which you don't always see (except with maybe the live looping artists, which as I said is not really the same thing).
I´m so glad , that i´ve buyed the floordrum, its perfect for me. since 1 year i have 12 pieces farmer footdrum, and since 1 week the floordrum. i´m sure i will use the floordrum from now on stage. and the builder is a very nice person, i mailed 10 times and he asked me all my questions. and also importatnt: the price is fantastic!!!
If you like hard rock music, check out a guy called Cam Cole. That guy's literally a one-man rock band! Plays guitar with his hands in the normal way while drumming with his feet. Bass drum, snare drum, crash cymbal and a couple of tambourines all controlled via foot pedals. And it sounds incredible too... you'd think it was just a normal rock band performing if you were just listening to the audio without seeing it or doing further research.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that this "Cam Cole" guy also sings at the same time as playing the guitar and drums! :))) That's 3 things being done by one performer! Pretty impressive, right? :)))))
I have to admit that it’s easier if you have drums experience.. but with some work you can play in few days a simple rhythm while playing guitar… and so on !
Hello , there's only a little crosstalking between the pads that normaly can be solved with the tweaks in the module. In my newer version ( see the latest video ) i have made the two mainpads with cutouts so there are not in a direct contact with the whole structure. This helps a lot. In any case it is perfectly usable with some attention.
What sort of amp & speaker work best with this? Is there a good amp & speaker that works well on battery power for busking? Or could anyone comment on what they are using successfully?
The Floordrum works very fine with an normal USB Powerbank that lasts for days. For the amplification there are a lot of nice line-array systems like the ones frome Bose ore JBL ( eon one ) ore if your budget is tight you can go for other cheaper options like the Behringer C210 ore many other manufactures that make these for very little
