  • In this video my friend Rob brings his CLC Pocketship "Kermadec" up to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands and we sail our boats around several of the islands, based out of the RQYS Canaipa campground (accessible to RQYS members only)

Yeah I reckon we are onto something here! I have mates with $$$$ buried in big yachts in marinas but there is something about being able to trailer your small boat 800km in a day and sailing some lovely spots around this country.

Very nice sail there Jason. Also I got to see our boat sitting out there on the flats. We certainly admired your boats.

Thank you for sharing your lads watery adventure.
Two beautiful sailing crafts to my eyes, and we'll matched by the looks of it.
And what a lovely part of Australia to sail in.....

Thank you, yes we are lucky to have these places not overcrowded. It was mid week and I'm sure there would have been lots more people if it was a weekend

Yeah it's a very compelling design. The only slight negative is the keel which increases the draft and makes beaching difficult. But that same keel is what gives the boat so much stability and safety.

I love your videis!! I'd love to sail with like-minded sailors! I have my own boat, but it sucks sailing alone!! Crew are welcome! Advise is welcome.

Yeah I agree. I have found a few local sailors and become good friends with a few. It makes all the difference. Safety is improved for a start. Post sailing meals and beers turn a sailing trip into a social trip.

another great film of another great adventure. How does Rob like the Pocketship? Very similar to my Peep Hen with the addition of a foresail. Which I covet as it would make upwind sailing more than just a dream.

Yeah Rob really likes it. It's a very compelling design with lots of great features. Really solid in the water too because of the lead in the keel.

I could not be happier with it actually. Ticks so many boxes.

    Great stuff Jason (and Rob).
Love the delux accommodation, Aus style.
Both boats sailing well. Luna reefed to match Rob's pace?

Luna was reefed because I'm a chicken....
