    Got mine about a month ago, love it. I believe there is an accessory for it to make it where you can sit in a chair with it. I’ll be getting that next.

      thank you 😊! fun fact: they actually improved the engineering on the post that tightes the arms. it's a better, sturdier bolt, made from harder steel.

    I think Dreamfactory is the original designer of this stitching pony and romanov tools has a knock off of it, that's why dreamfactory one is better, since the actual designer knows exactly what he's making :) by getting urself a dramfactory, u got an original piece of design yknow :p in a couple off decades it'll be vintage :)

    Im intersected to know if you have had the jaw adjustment threaded bolt hole wear out. I understand that the thread is cut into the wood. That is, there is no insert for a metal nut. Because the angle changes as the jaw is closed there is pressure on the bolt and thus the threaded hole since it stays in the same plane. The knurled hand wheel remains vertical and the bolt is at right angles to it, but the contact face of the jaw where the hand wheel meets can't stay flush throughout its full movement. Is this problem with the Dream Factory one or the Romanov one or both, its a little unclear.

    Is that one you have the biggest one also was the romanov one that you have the biggest he had.?

      when i purchased it, it was the biggest one they had. since then, there’s at least one larger model. same with the Romanov. both great companies, TBH.

    what's the quality of wood and, hardware (comparison) and comfort between the Romanov and Dream Factory

    • @JRenardLeatherCo
      @JRenardLeatherCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i believe the quality of both to be the same. they’re both made of plywood, but VERY well designed and cut. i’d go with the Dream Factory, based on the fact that it was designed to not have the bolt threads wear out after a year. that being said, they are definitely very good products.

      @@JRenardLeatherCo Did the Romanov one you have wear out?

    Great topic, but the 1970's video game music playing is distracting as F.

    • @JRenardLeatherCo
      @JRenardLeatherCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      duly noted. i started using more subdued background music in later videos. it was a bad call on my part, with not just the music, but the volume too.

    And is there a T nut or something where the clamp screws actually screw into or are they just threading directly into threaded wood?

    • @JRenardLeatherCo
      @JRenardLeatherCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      there is a metal piece recessed into the body on the other side. you can see it unless you fully unscrew it and look inside. it’s really good, as i won’t wear out like wood would.

    • @godofm3tal1
      @godofm3tal1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea if it was just threaded wood id be a little pissed lol I ordered mine today. Thanks for the comparison against romanov. I almost got that one instead

      @@godofm3tal1 So you didn't get the Romanov because of the threaded wood?

      🙄 it is designed to be opened from the opposite side, so that the writing hand is not hindered by the opposite page and the center binding.
