Personally, I type out and print my deck list the night before the event, this way there is no problems reading my shitty handwriting and nothing can ever get messed up

(If your lucky the front desk at the venue or going to an office max or staples the day before and STICKING TO YOUR LIST ONCE ITS PRINTED is the best advice I can give. This makes things alot cleaner for the judges and it auto populates the correct fields you just have to fill out your personal info and the event info
I feel like I’m one of the few that types their deck list out the night before. It’s just easier and then I put new sleeves on my cards while the line goes.
At YCS Niagara I wrote my brother's deck list but we left the last 2 side deck spots blank because we weren't sure what the cards were going to be yet but then forgot to fill it out when we went to registration. Thankfully Tom dig a great job and caught it and we fixed it. Thanks!
There was a time in which not until r7 at a regionals, a guy didnt know he kaiju slumber was at 2 at the time, and the opponent caught it. He appealed judge error because ya know the judges looked at the list. He still received the loss, even though he stated that he had one in the side the entire time and never resolved the search effect the entire day, and so he said he would just take the one in the side deck out. But like, you (the player) are going to an event and it only takes 6 seconds to look up the banlist before you start deckbuilding.
The best way to get an improvement on proper policy is apply to judge tier 3 level events and be a part of a team. Hands on experience for 10-18 hours. Learn the ropes carefully and handle cases with professionalism, customer service and smart decision making. There are 2 parts usually to judging, 1 rulings, 2 player management. Highly recommend reading the policy documents.

I'd have a ruling question. this actually happened to me some days ago on dueling book: player A controls Spell Canceller player B controls skill drain player A activates runick destruction targeting skill drain does player B banish 4 cards from the top of the deck? we opted for a no (no judges online, and that wasn't actually relevant)
i avoid all this frustration by exporting my list from Duelingbook into the KDE Decklist form. If you hit export, you can print it out directly from there, and avoid any issues.
For lists I generally color coordinate all of the cards in my deck (spells written in green, fusions in purple, etc). I do this since I feel its clearer visually what cards belong to which categories. From a judges perspective, do you think this is appropriate, or do you feel writing things in black is better?
Hey Tombox! First of all, love your content, it has helped me a lot this last YCS but, I would like to ask you something. What happens when a Judge is mistreating a fellow duelist? Unfortunately I was witness of a Judge being rude for no reason with my opponent and the worst thing he wrote an unfair penalty towards the poor guy. We tried to reach one of the Main Judges but, (I guess) since it was the end of the day they had already left since there was no one answering our dispute. Can this be forwarded to Konami and the organizers or how can we protect ourselves from this mistreats?
I went to a pokemon video game regionals, filled out my team sheet, had a landorus on the team, accidentally marked "no gender" since it was legendary and most don't have a gender. Immediately remembered that landorus does and changed it. Brought it to registration and they made me rewrite the whole sheet over it... at least yugioh has a little wiggle room for simple mistakes! Don't abuse it :P

Tombox ! Can I get a quick opinion on the sergeant of Endymion and ash ruling? I just don’t understand how ruling at events now. If he doesn’t special summon then how his effect not live again. It does NOT state you can’t activate his effect twice. It says you can’t special summon him twice in a turn. To be honest the ruling should be clear that if he still has access to 3 counters he should be able to activate the effect once more and atleast summon from deck because it also states clearly that servant can only be special summoned once, not the monster from deck
Best thing to do is to talk to the Head Judge before the event starts. At the event, the Head Judge's ruling is final. Even if the actual ruling may be incorrect. This is true for any ruling that you are curious or concerned about coming across during a tournament
I would like to know your opinion on language on the decklist. One of the last policy update changed what language players are supposed to use to write the name of their cards, and made it different between US and europe. I can't find it again. I don't know if it has been updated since, but I know at some point in KDE-E you had to write the name of your cards as they are written on your cards (for example, Sky Striker Ace - Raye x1, Himmelsjäger - Ass - Raye x1, Força Celesta - As - Raye x1... each on a different line... very annoying). I would like to know what you think about language on the decklist, if it is really important or not so much, etc.
Deck list please write in English Or the language that that is part of your national language. Remember judges have to read your list and they may come from anywhere. In Germany I'm sure u can write in German. Be consistent. Don't mix languages if you don't need to.
Can I change a card out of my deck with the same card in higher rarity during the tournament? Example: switching my Rare Sunlight Wolfs with Super Rare Sunlight wolfs between round 1 and 2
Hello mst I have a ruling question about judgment and filo messenger fur hire. If you activate filos effect to special summon a fur hire from hand and your opponent doesn’t activate nothing the i special summon a fur hire on to field and then your opponent activates solemn judgement. The Simmons’s does get negated and destroyed right?
they wouldve had to judgment the filo effect to negate the summon. Judgement can negate any summon but since the summon is in the effect, the effect itself must be negated.

Judged the OTS Championship at my locals and let me tell you I had hope players would have the common sense to fill out Reg forms, Deck Lists AND pay for entry all at once before trying to get entered but the amount of people who did just the opposite was fucking annoying.
I've never successfully submitted a deck list that hasn't gotten a warning no matter did I do it by using a pen or a computer. Maybe next year I'll pass without a warning
I asked because, I recently went to a ots tournament where we are playing for our invite, and it was top 4 and the judge found that one player only has 39 cards in his main deck and went on to place first in this tournament
Since the last year i use DuelingBook to print out my decklist for every YCS or even Regional i was going to. 1. My Handwriting is so aweful i could not read the decklist myself 2. I can check the list in the Deckbuilding Screen so i dont forget any card 3. Its easyer for the Judges becuase the Programm fills evry right number at the right place
@@MSTTV it doesnt. It only fills as much as there is space on the Decklist then it will leave a Note for you to write down the rest on the back. But it will still count all Monsters and fill in the right numbers. I guess its not optimal in the 60 card example

I mean some people write their list after gauging the event more striker or less etc. Then fill their list in..or acquired some new cards then went in.

Report to the assistant head judge or head judge immediately, or even the Konami representatives.
There should always be a head judge if there is a main tournoment and most major side ones still going

That is fine usually. Because judges often tell players to swap out cards that are too warped with new cards.

No, judgement only stops inherent summons not summons done by effects
they wouldve had to judgment the filo effect to negate the summon. Judgement can negate any summon but since the summon is in the effect, the effect itself must be negated.

Duelingbook literally has a export deck button that’ll have your entire list typed out for you. Use it guys. I do it every event.
In many many many occasions, I'd say about 50% of printed lists... Often have some corrections.

My penmanship is not so good so it took me 2 hours to write it as I wrote letter per letter each time I wrote very slowly
