As for watches... the swiss company "Tissot" makes decent ones for a good price. Wearing a watch that looks just like Cartier or Rolex doesn't really seem safer to me. The junkies won't realize its a dupe until after they punched you in the face and took it and looked at it closely. I love the Lottie, got a small one in taupe❤ The Fendi bag is really pretty, wow!
That Cartier you showed is the Panthere, not the Tank. 😊 For a good affordable Cartier Tank alternative, I'd recommend looking at the Seiko Tank or look at Rotary (UK brand) which are on the $150-200 range.
I’m a watch lover and have both Rolex and Cartiers. I don’t feel comfortable wearing my Rolex when I’m alone and about. I do wear my Cartier watch everyday and I don’t feel targeted, I think maybe it’s not obvious and most people don’t know much abt Cartier watches. I was in London and Paris last summer and wore my Rolex every single day and I didn’t feel anything of it. I dare to wear Rolex in my town 😂😂.

Have been wearing Uggs since 2010 and will keep wearing them - my feet are always cold in winter and don’t care what people think. Am 5 feet tall and have small feet so buy the children’s Uggs - saves a few dollars.
I love Uggs and will keep buying them and wearing them. Each year they come out with cute styles and I can still wear my first pair which are in perfect condition. Probably 10 years old now.
On personal safety... I come from a law enforcement family. They always say, look aware of your enviroment. Make eye contact with people. Look like you mean 'business'. Don't fumble for phone or keys on the street. Don't open a map on the street (tourist). And DON'T walk with your eyes glued to your phone. People everywhere don't even watch where they are going because their phone has ALL their attention. In a store with a shopping cart, I strap my bag into the child seat part and keep it zipped. On the street, I prefer to wear a crossbody vs. shoulder. Because if someone thinks they are gonna run off with it, they are gonna take me with them. Plus, you can turn the bag around so that the logo on some will be facing in toward your body, if you feel a little unsafe. Same with the shopping cart. They will have to run off with the cart too because the bag is strapped in. Haha! ❤

I have the same one and I remember dragging my husband all over London on our pre covid trip over so I could have the same one as you! I still wear mine as well. Also I hear you on the luxury items and being nervous to wear them out. I work in Philadelphia, PA US two days a week and I wear nothing nice when I go up, or I carry items in my nondescript tote to put on once I get to work. Let's just say on the other three days of the week, I'm the most blinged out and best dressed person working from home! I have a Cartier tank and also the same pink Tag as you, plus other luxury watches and jewelry but I don't wear them anywhere. It's pretty sad that others feel they are entitled to steal and brag about what they've stolen but also I don't want to be threatened over something that can be replaced. Yes, the Fendi bag may have the same look as the Lady Dior but in my country and if you are in town, no one carry Fendi bag anymore. No point buying unless you use it as a daily bag😢.

The durability of the plastic handles on the Sunshine tote concerns me. Plastic, even thick plastic, cracks all the time. Do you have any thoughts on that? Do you know whether Fendi will guarantee them or replace them, even if for a small fee?
i feel if one cannot afford a designer bag/belt/shoes or jewelry, then there is no point of getting something that looks like a dupe of a designer item. There are so many cool stuff that one can get. Actually, it looks tacky to to get anything that looks like a cheaper version of any designer item.
I've been watching the market on new and preloved items as well as dupes and ultimately, I've concluded that I'd rather have a bag that is it's own thing and not trying to look like something already known while also not spending a ton of money. The YSL quilted envelope bag is an excellent alternative to the classic flap! Generally can be found pre-loved for around £1k (retails over £2K) I have in both black and beige and LOVE them
Re the Cartier Tank, you can find a very affordable, very similar looking Tank through Seiko. I think all of their models are quartz, so you don't have to wind it up. My husband and I each have a pair, and they were less than $200 when we bought them. I've had mine for about 5 years now, and I've had absolutely no issues with it. Highly recommend it if you're interested in checking out the Tank style. Longines also had really nice versions of the style, if you are willing to go up in price but don't want to pay Cartier prices.
hey i have a similar seiko tank you mentioned ! i got it in 2022 so it has been a year since. every time i wear it, i smile bcos how pretty it is. very sophisticated. the seconda one looks very replica-ish 😅
I do think it is a great idea to buy something similar and there really is nothing wrong with it. As for bags like Chanel, Dior, or Bvlgari, I prefer those preloved ones as they often are better made. At the end of this video, you showed us the Fendi bag. Even prettier than the Lady Dior in my opinion. Actually, I have had several expensive and authentic handbags, but now, only a few, because I am worried about someone following me, attacking me and thus there is no need to walk around with a bag that screams "money" and attacks the attention of the wrong people. I think and fear- at least for me - traveling often alone - also a famous style on my arm like Hermès or Chanel is too obvious. With a chauffeur and one bodyguard in tow one day, I might feel differently.
When on the street, be very vigilant, hide your valuables, wear your bag crossbody or under your coat, and just look very badass and unafraid. Walk with confidence and purpose and don’t make eye contact. These punks are looking for easy, vulnerable, unaware snatches. I used to walk in some rough areas when I lived downtown in a major city, and never had a problem. I would dress down for the really bad parts and cross the street as necessary. Some of it was luck, but some of it was situational awareness and attitude.
I believe Sekonda have a Cartier dupe on the Next website? (Yeah they have silver too). M&S have a Kelly dupe bag. Russell & Bromley do a lot of inspired stuff. Eden perfumes for perfumes.

The problem with finding the cheaper alternatives and wearing those instead in order to minify financial loss is that, from far away those items, eg Sekonda watch, still resemble the real McCoy. Especially to the thieving bastards. You only realise that on closer inspection and by then you've already been through the trauma of being mugged by those thieving bastards.
What if they found out your stuff isn’t the real deal, they got mad still harms you? Tbh. I feel safer when my stuff doesn’t look designer or quiet luxury items makes me feel safer lol
i just found out that chanel made the strap of the 2.55 in metal because, at the time, thieves in paris would pass (running? on mopeds?), cut the strap, and take the purse. i REALLY can't imagine this happening in paris today. anyway, use 2 straps - hand and cross, put the bag to the inside of the sidewalk, don't be paranoid, and you should be fine.
Fendi do good belts I got the similar one for £300! And agree with the watches. When in London 2 weeks ago walking through the street didn’t feel safe and my partner and I covered sleeves.. as I have a santos and he a Rolex. Shame as shouldn’t be this way. But London is getting rough.

Listen, re the watches - as a police sergeant’s wife, a key point is being missed here. Criminals will NOT stop to think “gee is that a fake?” It means NOTHING to them to rob you and ask questions later. They do not give a flying 💨 about whether they traumatize someone. If it’s a fake they’ll just sort it out of their haul at the end of the day. To reduce the possibility of being a target, I would personally just not wear those items in public; take your nice watch, your rings, etc off and put them in your bag before you leave work. You could even put your designer bag in a cheaper looking tote so the whole thing looks nondescript. And KEEP your HEAD up for heavens sake!!! People practically paint a bulls-eye on themselves these days, and when you add to it the fact that you’re in a country where thieves have no expectation that you might have a boom stick to protect yourself, you’re really walking a slippery slope there. I’m considering getting an Hermes cape cod, and if I do, I surely will NOT be wearing it in any situation where it seems dicey!! Anyway just my 2 cents, can’t be married to a police officer for 15 years and NOT know too much about how vile some people can be!! 😬
It’s kind of strange listening to this. I thought of London differently. Not that I wear anything worth of stealing except for maybe an IPhone? But I would never feel unsafe on streets of NY in terms of anything being stolen from me. How is that a thing in London? Are there cameras? Police? Or people in general are less flashy here?

Loved watching this video actually :) I did bought second hand (one was never used) wallet from Chanel and a small “bag” from LV that has a tiny 2 card holder inside for 700€ from a thrusty person that owns Chanel bags, 2 Hermes and LV bags and purses.. but it’s getting harder and harder to get an LV or Chanel (for me) I own a Gucci bag small leather one but in red, also pre loved.
From a personal safety POV, ur still OK with handbags. (Bar the Chanel Flap.) Rsn being that handbags are such a personal choice thing...the opportunity to make any money on a snatched one are slim-to-nil. ● A street robber would need 2 know a gal who was in the market 4 such a bag. And even then...she'd want it brand new. So, by & large, ur handbag will never make u a target. ● It's ur jewellery...(or designer shopping bags/carriers)...that'd make u stand out. As a potential target.

Here in Halifax I donno if ppl think Dior is a new fishing boat factory or whatever, so if someone wears luxury goods (mainly yachts here) it’s solely for themselves. At the same time it makes sense that why the crime rate is so low here becuz ppl call themselves “cheap”, most of my patients drop 7-8k for a tooth implant but they shop clothes from Walmart, cuz it’s just a watxh just a shirt just a winter jacket etc. do I like it? Do I choose being worried about being robbed over ppl appreciating my outfit instead of making fun of me! Donno… but again, I never worried about being robbed, maybe becuz back in time when we were living in London my parents were students and thieves wouldnt bother us:)). But use uber or walk in busy streets, that’s what I do when I travel becuz I really wanna get the wear out of the pieces I get. Dont get me wrong, they are in pristine condition but I wear them as much as I can. But we also don’t have the luxury of let’s go grab a cup of tea at Ritz Harrods etc, so donno what I would do. I believe if ppl know you, they will imagine yes you have paid $1000 for a hair accessory which isnt stupid btw, I have a fair number of them and I use them, so if u feel for hair accessories in specific it’s not very smart to spend that money and instead buy another belt then definitely buy the belt. But ppl who know you, know you live luxurious. Kesus

I have a Tissot PRX for everyday wear. It’s aesthetically nice and it’s so popular thieves are uninterested. Win win.

I buy and wear vintage sterling silver watches, I love that they can be picked up for reasonable prices and are very unique.

You can buy replacements online for 5 pounds/pair and have them installed at you local bags repair shop.
But, who would want a replacement generic handles to put on Fendi?

Re the Cartier Tank, you can find a very affordable, very similar looking Tank through Seiko. I think all of their models are quartz, so you don't have to wind it up. My husband and I each have a pair, and they were less than $200 when we bought them. I've had mine for about 5 years now, and I've had absolutely no issues with it. Highly recommend it if you're interested in checking out the Tank style. Longines also had really nice versions of the style, if you are willing to go up in price but don't want to pay Cartier prices.

I do think it is a great idea to buy something similar and there really is nothing wrong with it. As for bags like Chanel, Dior, or Bvlgari, I prefer those preloved ones as they often are better made. At the end of this video, you showed us the Fendi bag. Even prettier than the Lady Dior in my opinion.
Actually, I have had several expensive and authentic handbags, but now, only a few, because I am worried about someone following me, attacking me and thus there is no need to walk around with a bag that screams "money"
and attacks the attention of the wrong people. I think and fear- at least for me - traveling often alone - also a famous style on my arm like Hermès or Chanel is too obvious. With a chauffeur and one bodyguard in tow one day,
I might feel differently.
When on the street, be very vigilant, hide your valuables, wear your bag crossbody or under your coat, and just look very badass and unafraid. Walk with confidence and purpose and don’t make eye contact. These punks are looking for easy, vulnerable, unaware snatches. I used to walk in some rough areas when I lived downtown in a major city, and never had a problem. I would dress down for the really bad parts and cross the street as necessary. Some of it was luck, but some of it was situational awareness and attitude.

The problem with finding the cheaper alternatives and wearing those instead in order to minify financial loss is that, from far away those items, eg Sekonda watch, still resemble the real McCoy. Especially to the thieving bastards. You only realise that on closer inspection and by then you've already been through the trauma of being mugged by those thieving bastards.

i just found out that chanel made the strap of the 2.55 in metal because, at the time, thieves in paris would pass (running? on mopeds?), cut the strap, and take the purse. i REALLY can't imagine this happening in paris today. anyway, use 2 straps - hand and cross, put the bag to the inside of the sidewalk, don't be paranoid, and you should be fine.

Listen, re the watches - as a police sergeant’s wife, a key point is being missed here. Criminals will NOT stop to think “gee is that a fake?” It means NOTHING to them to rob you and ask questions later. They do not give a flying 💨 about whether they traumatize someone. If it’s a fake they’ll just sort it out of their haul at the end of the day. To reduce the possibility of being a target, I would personally just not wear those items in public; take your nice watch, your rings, etc off and put them in your bag before you leave work. You could even put your designer bag in a cheaper looking tote so the whole thing looks nondescript. And KEEP your HEAD up for heavens sake!!! People practically paint a bulls-eye on themselves these days, and when you add to it the fact that you’re in a country where thieves have no expectation that you might have a boom stick to protect yourself, you’re really walking a slippery slope there. I’m considering getting an Hermes cape cod, and if I do, I surely will NOT be wearing it in any situation where it seems dicey!! Anyway just my 2 cents, can’t be married to a police officer for 15 years and NOT know too much about how vile some people can be!! 😬

But I would never feel unsafe on streets of NY in terms of anything being stolen from me. How is that a thing in London? Are there cameras? Police? Or people in general are less flashy here?

Hi Sophie! Loved watching this video actually :) I did bought second hand (one was never used) wallet from Chanel and a small “bag” from LV that has a tiny 2 card holder inside for 700€ from a thrusty person that owns Chanel bags, 2 Hermes and LV bags and purses..
but it’s getting harder and harder to get an LV or Chanel (for me) I own a Gucci bag small leather one but in red, also pre loved.

From a personal safety POV, ur still OK with handbags. (Bar the Chanel Flap.) Rsn being that handbags are such a personal choice thing...the opportunity to make any money on a snatched one are slim-to-nil.
● A street robber would need 2 know a gal who was in the market 4 such a bag. And even then...she'd want it brand new. So, by & large, ur handbag will never make u a target.
● It's ur jewellery...(or designer shopping bags/carriers)...that'd make u stand out. As a potential target.

Hello Sophie, it’s been a while since I had time to sit and write a proper comment-dropping comments more than thank you or a specific answer or sorry for ur loss isnt my thing! Here in Halifax I donno if ppl think Dior is a new fishing boat factory or whatever, so if someone wears luxury goods (mainly yachts here) it’s solely for themselves. At the same time it makes sense that why the crime rate is so low here becuz ppl call themselves “cheap”, most of my patients drop 7-8k for a tooth implant but they shop clothes from Walmart, cuz it’s just a watxh just a shirt just a winter jacket etc. do I like it? Do I choose being worried about being robbed over ppl appreciating my outfit instead of making fun of me! Donno… but again, I never worried about being robbed, maybe becuz back in time when we were living in London my parents were students and thieves wouldnt bother us:)). But use uber or walk in busy streets, that’s what I do when I travel becuz I really wanna get the wear out of the pieces I get. Dont get me wrong, they are in pristine condition but I wear them as much as I can. But we also don’t have the luxury of let’s go grab a cup of tea at Ritz Harrods etc, so donno what I would do. I believe if ppl know you, they will imagine yes you have paid $1000 for a hair accessory which isnt stupid btw, I have a fair number of them and I use them, so if u feel for hair accessories in specific it’s not very smart to spend that money and instead buy another belt then definitely buy the belt. But ppl who know you, know you live luxurious. Kesus
