    Very interesting and helpful - thank you!
    Neverthelesss one issue: tripods for phones are not expensive. So do your viewers a favor and buy one. Holding the phone with one hand and do anything else with the other hand looks akward and makes the picture shaky all the time.
    Ok, updated: In the latter episodes of the Holzmann story I saw in fact you own a tripod. I can agree sometimes it's necessary to come closer to things and take the camera in the hand. We all don't get younger (me too) and our hands are not as calm as in earlier years. So I would recommend to use a gimbal for this kind of scenes. Simple gimbals also are not expensive theses days and they do the job. I think many viewers would benefit from this.

    Dag Jaap.
    Op internet nog niets gevonden ivm met vervangriempjes .

    Jaap, als je nu een draaibank zou kopen, zou het dan weer deze zijn ? Momenteel staat er op de site "maintenance free motor" ik neem aan dat ze bedoelen zonder koolborstels ?

    Looks like they used a tooth belt and turned it inside out and the pulleys looks like they are V-shaped pulleys for a V-shaped belt.

    Hello, I have the same lathe with you. I try to remove the three jaw chuck and i cannot do it. Can you explain with more detail. Thank you.

      @jibreel73 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to take off the three bolts and then gently knock on the chuck with rubber hammer until it goes out
      Be careful to not drop the chuck because it's a bit heavy so hold it while knocking on it

    Hi Jaap! Were you able to do threading with the lathe as it came from the factory? Stay healthy my friend!

      @threading: I don't know, I did not try it.

    Hi :) Thank you very much for the wonderful video you have made. Thanks for sharing. I would like to build an automatic cross feed for it, why? Its just because I have never seen a mini lathe has a mekanikal automatik cross feed. It could be a nice project. I just hope that my know how is enough for making it. Anyways thank you again. Keep the video's coming. I am shore you will have many interested people

    Is it good? I need it for mini proffesional use. Just to smaller jobs.

      I would say it is o.k. for the price. You don't allways need the best of the best. It is all about tolerances, it all depends on how precise you need to work. If you need more precision, I would check it first like I did.

      For a really comprehensive coverage of this lathe check out 'ADES WORKSHOP' - he uses his for mini professional jobs . (Badged as a Warco but its the same Weiss made in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China).

      @@jaapdekker5983 Tanks for your presentation. I think the Holzmann 400 looks nice and the chuck is larger than fx. the sieg sc3. I am just trying to find out witch one to buy. With gears it is likely a brushed motor. If it on the other hand is brushless - then the pricing of this model i very good.

    You are right, your lathe is a China made, same as my identical Quantum one. They both do have just different colors following the reseller color scheme and some nonimportant details. Enjou your machine!

      These lathes are sold all over the world with various badges and colours. It is a Weiss WM180 made in Nanjing - see www.weiss.com.cn/products_detail/productId=210.html . Here in UK you can buy them badged either as the Warco WM180 (painted green) www.warco.co.uk/metal-lathes-metalworking-lathe-machine/15-wm-180-variable-speed-lathe.html at £840 including delivery or as the Chester DB7 (painted cream and grey) shop.chesterhobbystore.com/products/db7vs-lathe at £769 plus delivery. The two suppliers quote some small differences in spec (EG 600 v 700 watt motors) but look closely at the labelling on the headstock (or indeed anything else of significance) and you will see they are identical to the OEM Weiss. Here in UK the price includes 20% Value Added Tax (VAT). It would be interesting to compare their prices around the world. I can't find a home market price on-line - but next time I'm in China I'll try to find out. Also need to check what's included - for example both UK suppliers include a 4 jaw chuck - seems like Holzmann didn't. Good value anyway I think - I went with the Warco so as to colour co-ordinate with my mill and pillar drill in rest-full green.
