わたしTDL大好きで、その中でもカリブ大好きなんだけど、人形もリアルだし船に乗って大砲で打ち合ってるところも本当に海の上にいるみたいで好きなんだけど、一番好きなのはここの匂いなんだよね…

上海のカリブは最新映像技術を駆使してるだけで、アトラクションというより企業の新製品テストみたい。凄いんだけど薄っぺらいというか、魅力は感じないね。何回か乗ると化けの皮が剥がれるというか、カラクリが分かってしまい冷める。やはりカリブの海賊も昔からある東京ディズニーの方が断然良いと思った。
映画の前からある物ですもんね！このアトラクションある意味貴重ですよね(*´ω｀*)

I dont know why, but the Japanese kids in these rides are usually so wholesome. You can hear how excited they are to ride everything. And theyre usually quiet and not loud. Definitely different than in America.
And than France
The Japanese are conservative of their culture, Americans aren’t because of leftism and democrats.
The Japanese apparently have high respect for the park because it's so clean and well designed. That's what I've heard from trip reports. It's part of their culture to respect things like that, maybe because of strict schools, or because they just have an affinity for the immersive. But it also helps that Tokyo Disneyland is one of the best theme park resorts in the entire world as a whole, and apparently some people say it's better than WDW.

Love how they added Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones from the movies and they seem like they were always there from the very beginning..... Nice way to upgrade the ride with some movie references.

Trivia: When this first opened,the talking skull said what the Imagineers thought was "Dead men tell no tales" in Japanese; it was actually saying "There is no mouth on a dead person". That has since been corrected.
The mistake sounds more profound.
Wait does that mean it isn't a real person talking?
No I don't think it ever said that. When they went to translate it they found that there was no Japanese translation for dead men tell no tales. They found that it said that if they tried to do it literally. Never said it in the ride though.
That actually sounds mildly disturbing, just have the image in my head of some creature finding fresh corpses and tearing their bottom jaws off now

There's something about the excitedness of the staff that just makes the ride. I cant remember the last time I went to disney in orlando but I hardly remember disney workers. Theyre so prevalent and peppy in these vids

この間行った時に後ろに乗ってた男子高校生３人のうちの１人が最初落ちる前に「ここ、落ちるよな。でも俺余裕なんだよね」って何回も言ってたけど落ちた瞬間に他の人よりも荒ぶって叫んでて笑った（笑）

日本のカリブも上海のパイレーツもどちらもすごく良いと思う。日本は海賊たちの生活感が溢れてて曲はヨーホーが映えてて、上海は海賊のカッコ良さが全面に現れてて曲は彼こそが海賊が映えてると個人的に思った...ディズニーすごいな

I’ve always thought it strange that it always has such a short wait. It’s a really good ride considering its wait time. When I went, it was about 5 minutes all day long
This ride is weirdingly placed some people don't find or realize. I got to the ride not knowing it was just beside World Bazaar when I went through the hub
It’s in a weird place, barely apart of any land. They kind of made a very mini New Orleans Square, but I don’t mind lol. Back in Cali where I’m from at our Disney they have lines that go on for an hour all along the outside, so this is great for me
Even in Cali the ride rarely goes to 30 minutes in my experience because the capacity of this ride is insane. I think it’s the best in the park

The California version is longer, jas a darker swamp scene where the ceiling is less visible, has two drops instead of just one, has bigger cavern scenes, and a long lift hill at the end where you unload where you boarded. the Florida version is crap.
Well, the Florida version was originally supposed to be an entirely different original boat ride w/animatronic cowboys based on the old west, but people demanded they stick Pirates of the Caribbean in there instead.

Late comment here…my husband proposed to me on that exact spot 14 years ago. There were only two people in the very front and the two of us in the very back. That is, of course my favorite part of the ride.

I liked this. I grew up loving the WDW ride and loved getting to ride the one in Cali but this looks true to the spirit of the attraction. I also love how they kept the Wicked Wench instead of making it the black pearl or something. Drink up, me hearties! Yo, ho!

What difference does it make if the pirates buy a bride at the auction or visit a brothel? All women charge a price for their favors. Some are simply more honest about it. Why does Tokyo Disney have to be sooo dang perfect?
It might have something to do with the fact that TDL and its companion park, Tokyo DisneySea, are the only Disney parks in the world not owned or operated by The Walt Disney Company in any capacity.
こないだ友達と行った時、3回カリブ乗れました♡開園してからカリブ、お昼頃にカリブ、1番最後にカリブで、終わりましたー！カリブは展開が早いからすぐ乗れるし、アトラクションの長さは他に比べると長いし、人形とか作りが一つ一つがリアルだし、ちょっと怖いくらいで好き！
あと塩素の匂いもね！

I like the Disneyland one the best. Even after Shanghai. Shanghai's is too flashy for me too movie based. I preferred the original story of the ride before the movies came out

@@yigoh8437 if you pay attention to the context clues, it's a story about how you see the fate of the pirates in the cave, instantly dead but covered in treasure, with a painting of a red headed pirate queen. Then you go back in time to see them invade the town and drink themselves silly then capture said redhead and later possibly blow themselves up in the armory while drunk. It's implied that the redhead somehow conquered them and maybe even betrayed them later on (her skeleton isn't here). It's a cautionary tale that your own lust for booty and pleasure will destroy you if you are a pirate who tries to gain it maliciously

It looks almost exactly like the one at Disneyland. Only difference is a few things are in different positions and you can see the walls and ceiling instead of an eerie fog and night sky.

No, it's actually really dark and they said themselves that you can only see the walls and ceilings because of the extremely low light camera

Though Shanghai does have it's fancy screen work, etc - this one and Shanghai made their animatronics look more alive than US counterparts.
Beautiful classic version, wish Disney world had both this one and the new one in Shanghai. Heard they are going to use same technology in Animal kingdom for “The Jungle Book” though, that would be cool. Won’t happen until Tron and Guardian are done though.

It's gotta be very strange after visiting the American Parks to have Florida's haunted mansion, then go to a New Orleans Square in ADVENTURELAND, and ride Cali's Pirates, then see Florida's old Tomorrowland, Florida's Tiki Room building, Florida's Country Bears and Splash Mountain, and California's Space Mt. It's like Escape from Tomorrow! If only this park had Mr. Toad and Alice, then built the Matterhorn, and added pandora it'd be like a best of park. I heard it once had a s Sky Ride too.

I finally recognize that this ride's time line is the past of the Shanghai Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride
Much of the dialogue in the Tokyo Disneyland version of Pirates of the Caribbean is in English, except for the talking skull at the beginning of the ride before the waterfall drop. The talking skull is speaking in Japanese.
All the rides from like Asia and stuff look all more cleaner than the original rides and more clearer

Why do all of the Japanese versions appear to be so brand spanking new? Mr. Disney would have loved that!
Because OLC owns and operates TDL and makes sure it stays pristine and clean and remains up to high standards. The cheap, budget-cuts and cost-saving that goes on in the American parks is really sad and speaks volumes about how the current culture in the US and Disney are all about trying to save as many pennies as they can for profit, while sacrificing quality, customer service and value for the guests. Wish we still had the same standards as they do in Japan. I also think Americans just don't take any pride about keeping things nice or new and people aren't very respectful of the property of others. I'm willing to bet the rides/attractions at TDL don't have trash, garbage, food and junk thrown around everywhere like you see now days at DL and WDW on everything you go on, either.

Better than Disney World... not better than Disneyland. Disneyland has 2 drops and a ride up the waterfall at the end. Nothing can now compete with the Shanghai version but that... is a totally different ride. Tokyo's Disney seems like way more than Disneyworld for some reason.

sounds disappears around the 4 minute 20 mark, but comes back around the 5 minute 20 mark....if you dontind me asking, if this was from tokyo, why were all of the animatronics singing or talking in English instead of Japanese?

Do the boats go up a “waterfall” after the guests disembark, or is there no uphill climb at all (as in the ride is slightly uphill the entire length of the ride)? I know the original imagineers didn’t like the uphill waterfall on the original, but Walt didn’t think it took away from the “realism” of the ride by having the boats going up the “waterfall” like they did.
