  • Injecting Trees is the most efficient way to deliver material into the vascular system of a tree. It allows for small environmental impact while still delivering big results. In this video I use the Mauget micro injection system to inject Stimex and Imicide.

    Hi Matt, good info. Thought I commented on this. Got the same setup. About a week or 2 after I noticed mushrooms coming out the borer holes. Its working but takes a lot of injections, and this stuff is very expensive. I noticed top of my 1 ash tree, even thou it has some leaves, it was reslly bad; as I climed the tree felt like it could break in half if I rammed it as hard as I could, so I went up there yesterday and sprayed near the top bark just a little to soak down with gravity. Hopefully I can save it, along with my other trees.
    I dont have emerald ash borers but I have its cousin, bronze birch borer. I notified my stste agriculture, they guy wss very intelligent & helpful, I then notified my local news stations cause none of them mentioned it. 2 weeks later they still havent said a word, its like they have a vested interest in misinformation & for the destruction of 40% of the trees :sigh:.
    Plan to make a video, hopefully the locals will see it and try to save. Might make a flier for a local bird store. In Pennsylvania near Philadelphia they're under quarantine, but was from spotted latern fly. Its overwhelming, and not many people care 😔

      Assuming you still have moment through the vascular tissue if the tree, a rescue app of Safari - dinatefuron - will help too. It's very mobile thus fast acting. Good luck!

    Hi TY for this informative video. I have a yard full of ash that I want to save is this something I can do myself? Process looks fairly easy and is expensive to hire a professional for 30+ ash trees.

    Do you know how many psi those injectors have? I made an injector from a garden pump sprayer but 5he tree is not soaking it up even though I drilled about 2” and have a lot of pressure. Maybe it’s a little early and the sap isn’t running yet? Thanks.

    • @TheGrassFactor
      @TheGrassFactor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shane, not very high, I think maybe 6? Have your trees leafed out yet? I'd say you're still pretty early.

    • @shanek6582
      @shanek6582 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Grass Factor, thanks man, I know I’ve got a lot more than 6psi, it must just be too early here in the East Tennessee mountains, I’ll try again in a couple weeks. I’ve got to get rid of those wooly aldgids on my hemlocks. I’ve got so many huge trees that I can’t afford the soil drench method, I bought merit75 wsp . Not entirely sure the mix ratio or how much per tree but I can’t hurt the trees any more than the woolly buggers. Thanks man.

    What is the process to save a 300 year old Bakul Tree (Mimusops elengi) (in North 24 Parganas) with pesticides, fertilizers or plant hormone injections or other methods since it has been taken hold by invasive parasitic plants and is dying?

      Most pest or pathogens are secondary problems. Finding the primary cause 70%-90% of the tim is in the soil or dealing specifically with an amniotic disorder. Secondary pest and pathogens should be treated also. Don't get pulled so quick to a pill approach on diagnosis and care before you look underneath the tree at the roots and check all factors.

    can i inject NPK and micronutrients directly into stem
    also can in inject alpha napthelene acetic acid into stem

    • @TheGrassFactor
      @TheGrassFactor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not on the naphthalene, and any NPK & minors has to have appropriate solution and very low salt index otherwise you will burn the tree very badly. I've made this mistake before

    Can you reuse those injectors? Refill with the chemicals and reuse? Thanks, I found them online but they’re prefilled with chemicals and expensive, if I could buy a couple dozen and treat one or two trees at a time, thanks.

      The Grass Factor thanks man. I’m thinking about doing a homemade deal with a pump sprayer, would you have an opinion on how muck merit 75 to mix per tree for injection? It’s just too expensive for me to use one 1.6 ounce wsp per tree with the root drench method. Thanks again.

    This guy has done a lot of reading but he Obviously is not an arborist though. These products are expensive. When I spend that kind of money I hire a pro do do it right. Just because I can buy an engine rebuild kit, and I know how to install it, does NOT make me a mechanic!
    Those little capsules are designed for small trees under 5 inch DBH so using them like this makes the dispersement of the product is all uneven. Proper pressure and disbursement is important to cover the entire canopy of the tree via trans evaporation. But leave it to the Bayer company to market to as many people as possible. While you’re at it, go buy some diluted over the counter Merritt from Kmart and douse your whole yard with it! Make sure to double up in the garden! Ok that is sarcasm, sorry about that. If budget is the issue you should pick a few key trees to protect and pay a pro to do them correctly! That’s why in MD you must have a license tree expert to work on any tree over 20 feet tall. It protects all of us from hackers. Lastly, (back to sarcasm) be sure to drill lots of extra holes in the vascular system of the tree to inject a fertilizer that can be put in the ground and that is probably not even necessary. Thanks for reading!
