  • Cornelius Gurlitt (Feb. 10, 1820 - Jun. 17, 1901) was a German composer. His studies took him from Germany to Copenhagen, where he'd reside as an organist and music teacher for 4 years, before moving to Leipzig, then finally Rome. His breadth of compositions ranged from songs, cantatas, symphonies, and operas.
This is the 11th of 12 pieces from his Op. 205 work: Kleine Blumen (Little Flowers). The middle section felt a little bit out of place and unnatural given how the piece starts. But it's a nice little piece regardless.
