    Got the new SE 2 as as my entry into apple watch and I was surprised to see that their fitness tracker was able to not only track my swimming distance accurately, but was also able to track whichever swimming style I was doing during each laps. Technology is insane.

      @@AJ-zo4pr I have one, and I've had earlier models. Honestly, if you're just a normal careful person who doesn't have trouble damaging your regular watch's face, the case is more of a cosmetic thing. They have nice designs. But it really becomes a hassle to switch so frequently. For example, having it in a case can be a little cumbersome if you switch bands frequently, and I had to because I would change back to the basic silicon band when I'd work out, but when I'd go to work or go out, I would change back to the cased band. I'd say its not necessary unless you're planning on flailing your arms around haha

    I have found if I use the Workout Low Power Mode, not the general Low Power Mode, some of the heart rate data has been missing on some of my workouts. On one occasion it was a full 7 minutes before it started working again during the same workout. Due to this issue, I don’t bother with any of the Low Power modes any longer.

    I was considering getting the SE2 as my first Apple Watch, but decided to get the non-cellular Nike Series 7 instead. Reasons included always on, dust resistance, non-plastic back and fast charging. I think I made the right decision, even though it was more expensive.

    • @Handsomeboi1

      But dust resistance would be only used if you live in a desert and fast charging happens when your block has higher volts.

      its a great decision, I have the 1st gen SE, and when I upgrade (prob next year) it will probably be for those two main reasons, always on and fast charging, otherwise the SE is just as great as the normal S7 and S8 watches, but those are good points to check in before buying

    I have a Macbook, iPhone, iPad and Airpods (and multiple versions of some) yetttt still use a Fitbit Charge 5. I would really love to get a watch and round out that ecosystem and the SE seems the choice as its the smallest and I don't want all the bells and whistles. But the battery life seems absolutely killer! I charge my Fitbit about once every 8-10 days and having to charge the SE daily seems like a chore. It also confuses me, sleep tracking is perhaps the most important part of a wearable to me but if you have to charge it overnight hows it going to do that?

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Apple Watches tend to do this very well. I did a 4 mile treadmill run with both the Series 6 and the SE and they were both within a few hundredths of a mile off. I was intending on including a video of it but the darn treadmill turned off and stopped showing the final distance before I could capture it. Make sure to run outside for at least 20 minutes though at some varying speeds so the watch can learn your running dynamics before running indoors for the best accuracy.

      The FR 55 and an Apple Watch will be somewhat similar in terms of running features. At that price range an Apple Watch may be your best bet just because it has better iPhone integration but as you go up the Forerunner lineup to the FR 255/265 and up, those start to have features that aren't available on an Apple Watch like much more training and performance feedback, native cycling power meter support, and more advanced navigation features.

    Will this be better than my forerunner 45? Assuming I’m looking at this primarily from a running perspective. Will the SE 2 work with Stryd? As Stryd does not work with the forerunner 45.
    Keep in mind I’m pretty serious about running. I regularly run 50-70miles per week. The garmin forerunner 45 is truly bare bones, but the GPS is not super accurate in my urban area. It’s served me for my average pace and tracking miles, but if I want to begin to use Stryd foot pod, I can’t….I’m also a bit over the poor GPS tracking. I’m also curious how the running power is on this compared to Stryd.

      The Series 7 has nearly all the features of the Series 8 so that would be a good deal if it’s close in price to the SE 2022

    Hi Des @desfit, long time follower of your fitness watch in depth reviews. I purchased my first fitness watch after watching your review of Vivoactive 4. Though my watch is still going strong, I can see a drop in battery backup. Just purchased my First iPhone and I want to experience the apple watch. Would it be prudent to buy a SE2 with lesser features but newer chip than buying a series 7 with more features and an older chip? Please help!!
    P.S - I don't really use SpO2 in my older Vivoactive too.

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd actually opt for the Series 7. Chipset is a negligible difference when compared to always on display, larger display, and potential for longer battery life when you turn off the AOD. Thanks!

      Series 7 ofc. Series 8 has all the same features as Series 7 + pretty useless crash detection and ovulation tracking which is only beneficial to women. While SE 2 lacks most of the functionality of Series 7 and 8.

    I just picked up an SE 2 GPS version and did my first run with NRC in a pretty densely populated area. Gotta say I’m pretty disappointed with the mapping of my run afterwards. It has me running off streets and straight through buildings… How can I fix this, I’m sure I’ve set it up wrong?

    I would like to know how I can configure my rim size correctly, because on my bicycle computer it is configured correctly and on the Apple Watch I have a discrepancy of 8 kilometers due to the wheel size configuration, which in my case is a 29 rim. I have already connected my speed sensor on the apple watch and I also selected the size but it simply ignores it, can you tell me how I can solve this problem?

    Apple support in my country can’t find out whether the release buttons on here are steel. Nothing about the Ultra and its screws either. Do you know? If not, I would massively appreciate if you can get a reply out of Apple support where you’re located.
    I’m allergic to nickel. So steel is a no-go.

    I’m torn between the S7 (on an Amazon deal) and the SE 2. I’m not mad into fitness but I’m liking the fact the screen goes to the edges and the always on display. Then again does that matter as the SE 2 will be slightly cheaper and have most things I want. I’m a diabetic so will set up a complication that shows my blood sugar on the face so not sure it AOD would be better for this or not matter. Help!!!
