We live in Dayton. We were at this mall a few weeks ago. It's too overwhelming for me! Did you go the same time that Misty, Jeffrey, etc all, went to last month, or was this another trip for them?
Urbana is pronounced Ur BAN a...BAN rhymes with van.

Thanks, and yes you pronounced aluminium correctly, that's the first time hearing it from an American for me in the UK and I used to be a UK aerospace contractor for Mc Donnell Douglas then Boeing.
Now eggplant is an aubergine in the UK its proper name thank you....lol.
Huntley and Palmer are a famous historical and present biscuit company, well known for their Chocolate Olivers among others. They were also famous for their elaborately decorated biscuit tins.
Loving the vlog as always, happy vibes!

I’m bilingual! I speak British and American! 🤣. I know my fair share of cockney slang and all the alternative words and pronunciations. (Some embarrassing like, “show us your pannies then”. Means “show me your hands” when speaking to a little kid). My best friend and soul mate was a London native ex pat. An ex Scotland Yard detective. I myself am an incurable Anglophile.

Such fun, I wish we had malls like this in my area! And that hat is fabulous. A little thing about the pronunciation of Rosenthal: Since it is a German name, you don't pronunce the TH the English way, but simply as a T, like "Rosental". It means "valley of roses".

You're my favorite shopper! I may have already posted this to you, so I'll give the Reader's Digest version.
The Penguins by West Bend were available in the Quality Stamp catalog here(so were Red Cosco stools). We had both.
That probably explains why there are so many. I have 3 right now, and I've given away at least 3. I actually dropped one and broke it. Bummer. My mother used hers for hot food, and it always went to any potluck or family dinners with either turnip greens or green beans. I use mine for hot food, also and will be using all 3 for Thanksgiving. Love that you count them all the time. There must be thousands still around. I paid 3.99 for my latest one.

Always looks like such a fun adventure. You find so many amazing vintage goodies. I’m sorry about the lost package/furniture. I’ve had so many issues recently with shipping both usps and fed ex. I’ve had boxes smashed apart and taped back together and the item is missing the tissue the sender packaged it with and it was wadded up inside out. They clearly took it out, tried it and stuffed it back in. I had another from usps that was opened and repackaged in a half ass obvious way. I guess they didn’t like the shoes! I hope you locate your furniture! Looking forward to seeing your house as it’s renovated.

Had to tell you. Remember the two sculptures that were largeeee n looked like they were made of washers welded together? Well,,,,, take a look at the Elena Bulatova’s site. You can Google her n she has a site. When I was living out in the desert I was helping her with her son Liam. I didn’t know her as an artist but went nuts in her house. Her husband is very good himself n I believe he did sculptures just like those in Ohio! They have a big store in Palm Desert n another in Las Vegas. She gave me a melting lollipop in black for my new grandson as my daughter had done his nursery in gorgeous grey baby furniture from Pottery Barn. Efi her husband gets a fortune for them. Her whole house is like an exhibit! I told her the first time I was there “I love your art work” lol dah. While I was with her she lost a baby at about 4-5 months but as I follow her I saw she finally had another baby. I was so happy for her. I have pictures of many works in her home plus one of those sculptures! I’m not sure how I could send those to you. Let me know if you’d like to see them?!

I grew up close to Urbana. The locals pronounce it by saying the “ban” like the term ban. To ban a product, etc....at least in the 60’s that’s how they said it!

Huntley and palmers is a biscuit factory in my home town of Reading gb . They have been making biscuits since 1841 they are are no longer producing but there is a market for the tins still . In our museum there is a whole display .

Trench art was made by soldiers who were stuck in the trenches in WW1 for long periods of time they would use old shell casings and etch on them. They fetch good money. Alot of pieces are in personal collections. But you can find it.
LOL! I grew up with rotery phones had a pink wall phone like that and we also had a skateworld and a skateland for rollar skating. But thats what kids did back then, that and ice skate in the parks which was a blast, we did that instead of burn down buildings.
    Love the polish throw rug.

Thanks so much for taking us along on these adventures. I love that your also take the time to turn the pieces over and give us a lesson in what to look for and the different artisians. it would be fun to spend a day with you in an antique mall as the lessons would be so much fun to learn first hand. It is amazing that you still keep learning new things and it adds to the value of your shopping and sales. Keep it coming!!!!

Yep, all my UK friends mispronounce aluminum. lol Another is oregano. They says or eh gah no instead of oh reg uh no. I love talking with them!
I'm afraid restraint would fly out of my vocabulary at that mall. I don't go to antique shops at all because I can't afford them. I catch plenty of great finds and deals at thrift shops, rummage sales, and market place. That way I don't have to make a choice between paying bills or satisfying my vintage-antique sweet tooth. lolol

I am from Ohio and the city is pronounced Ur- ban- a. Ban is pronounced like saying in a sentence, " I ban you from saying that.

Trench Art = turning the metal of used ammunition into pieces of art or dishes etc.
In WW1 soldiers of both sides had to live in trenches mostly in France for months under unbearable circumstances so the crafty ones used the brass lying around.

Despite me only being a couple hours from this mall, this was my first time there. It was amazing and overwhelming! I regret not paying more attention to the cases after watching multiple videos from that day. I loved those W. Germany orange vases with the black lava drip. They seemed to capture everyones attention that day. You got some great stuff too. Those rings were a bargain!
