- Your application for permanent residence was recently approved. You were requested by immigration to submit your passport for issuance of the COPR. How long does it take to receive your COPR? It can still be a few weeks and sometimes over a month - this is normal and standard practice.

Inland application typically takes about 1.5 to 2 years - it depends on processing times. The next stage might be to request police clearances and or updated forms and or medical examination if not already done.

Deepindise Jazz it’s a standard letter therefore it might still take a few months. You can look at the processing time on the IRCC website as a guideline.

Question: how about if you renew your passport? Will that affect the COPr issued to you? The passport number printed on the Copr will be from the old one.
Keyork Immigration Law thanks for the reply, but this is the full story of my case: the embassy of canada in UAE emailed me and they asked me to return both copr and passprt along with explanation letter that i renewed my passport. Now, im leaving Oman in 2 months and going back to my country of origin. So, that will make a huge problem for me if they will not return my passport in time. Also, i called the embassy and told me that they dont answer immigration questions through phone nowadays, and only by emails. Emailed them and i got no reply from them yet (almost two weeks from the day ive sent the email). Can i just ignore the “sending back the passport and copr” to them? And just land to canada? ( i have sent my new passport copy by email to them btw)

Hello, if you are single, it is fine. But if you are common law, or married (even if civil marriage), you must update the IRCC, and the COPR.

Hello, I am the sponsored applicant (My spouse being a landed PR) I submitted my passport to receive visa to travel to Canada and become landed PR, though my passport was returned by embassy (Process initiated outside Canada) on the basis that the deadline was missed (The only deadline provided in ready for visa doc pertained to primary applicant needing to land in Canada to receive PR) My question being, given the above, is my application refused, rejected or a decision has not been made? I never received formal refusal letter, the passport was returned with no explanation and we had to chase to understand their reasons. This is crucial for me to understand because we aim to re apply under the same sponsorship stream, though a clause deems the sponsor ineligible "If they applied to sponsor current spouse and no decision has been made". Would be greatly appreciative of any help in determining the final status of the decision (To this date, 1 year after returned passport, in the tracker service the application still deemed "in progress")

but other countries i have been to always required me to have a student visa

Hello, I am in a very tricky situation here and any advise would really be appreciated. I (the primary applicant) and my 2 dependents (spouse and kid) have all received a PR visa and is stamped on the passport. The issue is that my passport is only valid until Aug 23 and hence are visas are also till that date. The CoPR which we have received tags the respective passport number. Now because most of the countries ask for 6 months passport validity to even transit through them to Canada (from India), the question is if I apply for a renewal/reissue of passport, would my CoPR (tagged to my old passport) be still considered valid as I will receive a passport number which will be new and not tagged to CoPR?
Hello.. i paid the fees of RPRF on 24th Sept 18. When will be getting the PPR request mail? Am just asking to know about the general timeline for this. Secondly i paid the Govt fees if 550 CAD on 26th June 18. Then RPRF of 490 CAD on 24th Sept 18 as stated above. I will be glad if any views can be shared. Thank you.

Hi, I have applied for FSW via Express Entry. I am the principal applicant and my wife is dependent. But I have not included her in travelling with me now (for first I will settle and later will bring her in). Although her PCC and Medicals were done, if later I want to bring her to canada, do I need to file Spousal Application for her or not? If yes, then whats the process?

Hello.. I have a quick question.. My wife and I received our COPRs few days back.. which were sent for correction.. It's all good now with no errors.. But my online profile still shows application in progress.. Not sure why.. It usually updates as soon as the COPR is dispatched from IRCC.. But this time no update yet.. I've booked tickets for Toronto on 25th May.. I hope its OK to travel.. Is there something I should do in this case to get the profile updated?

Hi Mheanne, the medical is one step among many other. Depending of the type of application you applied for, your file will process accordingly through all the regular steps (requirements for missing documents, updated forms if need be etc). Once all the steps are done, you will receive a decision.
My spouse has to travel for work in about 10 days and we have submitted our passports for the COPR visa a week ago already. Is there some way to contact the officer or someone who can reassure us that our passports will be returned in time? or not? especially that both our jobs are important cz we're keeping them and we'll be working remotely from canada

If your application is approved, you will receive a request to complete final stages of not already done such as medical etc and finally you will be requested to submit your passport in order to be issued an immigrant visa and confirmation of permanent residence.

Can single applicant be asked for passport copies after pr approval , while waiting for ecopr and submitted the photo and address ? Normally only dependants are asked for passport copies not the single applicant. Do you have any idea ? Please let me know

Me n my baby r in india and my husband is in calgary . He had applied for Pr for all of us together in sept 6 th 2021 but he have received eopr on 4 th jan 2022 but me and my son have not received any passport submission requet or no guidelines for us in his mail what needs to be done .

I am applying for AIPP while I am in UAE and my wife in India we both are Indian. Once the passport is requested can she submit it to the Canadian Embassy in India while I submit it in UAE?

This is normal as sometimes processing can take several months, especially during the summer months. I recommend you wait another 1 month and hopefully you should received a response.
