I love the video my only issue with the video is that the 10:45 car in the background with all that space, why does he/she is having trouble parking that car
+John lee cookson Do a search on line and on youtube on the front smoother. That is the save you are referring to. front smoother is used for low hard shots that you can get your body behind. Smothering behind and over the ball allows for more control due to a lower center of gravity.
There is no one right answer. Developments in goalkeeping, strength of players, and the quickness of the shot have modified the ready position as well as hand position over the last few years. Most important it should feel natural. Proper ready and position will enable more control and quickness. For me a neutral position is key.
Slightly in front creates a better hand on eye connection. Also a stronger save, hold, or deflection in front of the body than behind. Can always end behind fully extended if that is the best possible to keep the ball out of the net :)
Great session and even better coaching. Love his explanations.

Other than that it was amazingly academic and helpful
Good drill but you could add the scoop forward and dive.

Awesome i am aslo aa goalkeeper
Same
Cool
it helped me a lot.. thanks bro
I disagree when he says "keep your hands in for quickness" I believe you need to look big and dominant
Yeah but you can also with "hands together" move your hands as "one" whilst you have to move your hands at different speeds
But, it's really whatever u like best
by the way do you like the video
You stay compact in the goal until you need to get BIG! That will look like the goal is totally full of the Keeper.
I recommend keeping your palms facing forward when in set position

bonjour
wow it worked!!!
why is it important to see your hands, you know where they are no?

suupar
Is it just me or are the keepers, and coach flat footed???
Chris Hayes you are supposed to be flat footed but just put your weight on your toes, if you stand on your toes you will loose balance
