The Megastructure sure is mysterious and awe-inspiring :D
The stars and flames in the top left are the total; not just for the area you are... Kind of. When you 'turn them in' they don't count to the number there. IDK if there's a way to track the flames for each area, but for the stars using the 'map' screen is your best bet.

Yea in each normal zone you only have to do 8 puzzles. So 8 regular 0 lost. 7 regular 1 lost, or 6 regular 2 lost. There are two separate things that look like stars. The real "stars" are 2 per zone and are connected to monuments. There are also the prometheus flames(not sure how many per zone). The flames are just to allow you to skip puzzles temporarily if you can't finish 8 in a zone. You can always go back to finish puzzles you skipped.
But nice solves. I really loved the charon story. One of my top 5 bits of text in the game. Kinda sad to see you leave this zone though it is one of my favorites in terms of puzzle design. Back propagation and "hidden" are some of my favorites in the game. But must move on lol.
Also lol one streamer got stuck for like an hour trying to find the switch for the star you found. I personally don't really like the star/monument puzzles in this game but some people really enjoy them.
