Steve, I need your help. I updated my QC to OS 3.1.0, and now when I run the QC in 4CM with an amp head, I get crazy interference on the gain channels of the amp, when I plug a USB cable into the QC from my computer. I sent a video to Neural. Can you see if you get the same results in 4CM, with a USB cable connected to Cortex Control? Thanks!
I sold my Helix to buy a Quad Cortex, mainly because of size & weight, but I also found that Neural Capture amps sound amazing (yes, there are many built-in).
The Crybaby from Hell (which is the Dimebag Darrell signature Crybaby) basically is a 535Q, it's super flexible and sounds great. And the port of the SLO plugin sounds insanely good, both for cleans and edge of breakup and for high gain. There's a reason why it's been used by Warren Haynes, Clapton and Knopfler (amongst others). And it obviously shines at 80s rock tones, but that was a given.
The lane 1-2 thing drive me nuts too. What else grinds my gears. Oh, when scrolling through my capture (or other lists) I can’t minimize the side bar. So I get a list of all the captures which usually have the same first few words, then ellipses where the rest of the info is that differentiates them. I hate it. They have a max character limit for IR’s and captures which is reasonable but then don’t even display the full amount Makes me resort to having to search all the time when I already have them named nicely so I can just scroll a list
I cant believe they still havent allowed you to do parameter changes with a footswitch. Ya they'll say you can use scenes, but scenes not only limits your amount of combinations, but to access scenes you have to go into hybrid mode and then your stuck with 4 scene buttons
yeah especially for gigging it’s really a let down. I went with an fm9 recently and while the learning curve is steep at the start, it is an infinitely more versatile machine imo.
I saw a video of a guy making tone x captures using neural plugins with reaper and tone x, I tried it and it works, tone wise makes it pointless to buy a quad cortex for me, I still crave some of the quad cortex functionality tho.
The biggest problem still with QC is the process to change from stomp mode to scene mode with the foot switches. I could live with every other complaint if they will fix that.
It's no problem, just use a simple and affordable MIDI controller, the "Hotone Ampero Control," and I can easily switch between PRESET/SCENE/STOMP both in edit mode and GIG VIEW mode. Very simple setup.
The fortin zuul noise gate is one of the things the nameless plugin ports over so thats super cool
Thanks for the heads up!

I agree on the split. They just need to put an alert forcing you to lane 3 if it’s going to use too much DSP
I look forward to your review after you get home Steve. Happy Thanksgiving.
I'm searching for an advice... should I buy a Quad Cortex or an Helix Floor? Thank you

This is why I sold mine last year. I didn’t care for the workflow

@@DoctorMcFarlandStudiosWhat did you get instead?

It’s weird to watch this video because I don’t own a QC.
But I do live in Foxboro Massachusetts.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I appreciate you being here anyway! We are a the Marilyn Rodman theater tomorrow night if you're around!

Check out String Velocity. They just made a single button FS that sticks right onto QC that will change your view without risk

@@kijeklukasz I’ll check it out. With a unit like the QC you shouldn’t have to get extra crap just to make it user friendly though.
You look great dude!! Hair is getting long guy..
Digi-tal John… (if you know you know 😂)
new function? digital toy, okay to play at room with
PC, for diletants , when you plug it into the PA for live,, then see great digital shit
sound
I know you probably thought you did good with this comment, but it's just flat out wrong lol
Just did my update. Finally got my Soldano SLO plugin into my QC.
What’re your thoughts? My plugins aren’t available yet so I’m so curious to know if it sounds and feels the same. (I assume it does but ya never know)
@@radfury23g32 It does and now it is very portable in my QC.
