We stayed in Puerto Iguacu on the Argentinian side of the falls (good touristc infrastructure) and spent each a full day on the Argentnian and the Brasilian side. We took a taxi from the hotel to/from the park entrance (which also made the border crossing easier). We prefered the Iguacu Falls on the Argentinian side as you get closer to the falls after taking the narrow gage train up to the highest elevation a footbridge takes you out over the calm water right to where the Garganta del Diablo starts its fall. Then you can walk along the falls back to the entrance. The Brasilian side offers more panoramic views as you are 'on the other side' of the Iguacu river. Also we skipped the the boat tour.
