You should react to "An Audience with Billy Connolly". There's the edited TV version & there's a longer version with some occasional strong language. The latter is of poor VHS quality, but watchable. 👍
"An Audience With Billy Connolly" is one to watch, where he performs to an audience of British TV personalities. Hilarious. I saw Billy live, I was 8 months pregnant, I honestly thought I was going to go in to labour.
Billy is the master at wandering off into different stories while trying to convey a specific story - The way he can get a laugh out of a side story ( like the car jack pinky finger joke ) and then come straight back to the lady on the bus is masterful.
I saw Billy Connolly first time ever in Great Western road on Tuesday after running someone to Gartnavel hospital. He looked really tall and skinny and shuffling tbh.... people were stopping their cars to talk to him but his demeanor looked as if he couldn't be bothered to talk to any of them. He stuck out like a sore thumb with his black and white trousers.
@ Yes I agree, his dark side, I can imagine celebrities get fed up of the attention, I think I heard him say once that he punched some bloke because the bloke just wouldn’t F off, he was an alcoholic and Pam helped him stop drinking, he also said in an interview that he was that pissed through a show that he couldn’t remember any of it the day after. In contrast I met Sir Ian McKellen on his 80th birthday tour at Burnley Mechanics Theatre, what a lovely guy and very amenable and tactile, you could get a chat with him and a selfie for a tenner for the charity box and he didn’t rush you off but was very kind and gentle and thoughtful. I have never met the Big Yin so maybe my respect is due to him being abused and becoming an alcoholic but never giving up, where as Mr Sir Ian McKellen I can vouch for first hand as I have met him and spoke with him, at 80 he was thick set with big hands and held a presence in the room but with a calm friendly demeanour.
I saw Billy live in London in the late 90’s, never seen a comedy act that had everybody in the audience in tears of uncontrollable laughter at some point or another, he really is the best comedian ever.
In Scotland he is a legend ,and I believe Mr bridges would have been very inspired by Billy. I was brought up with hearing Mr Connollys stories. The old lady on the bus still cracks me up,. I still laugh at it after all the years I have heard it. 😆 Anyway love out to you both ,and the family. Scotland UK
I also love his Michael Parkinson interview with Tom Cruise, side splitting humour watching Tom Cruise laugh so much at everything that Billy says 🤣😂🤣😂
There's a full Parkinson show uploaded with David Attenborough as another guest. Absolutely hilarious. You might want to check out another interview along with his wife Dr. Pamela Connolly where Billy explained how his wife was furious that he received an honorary doctorate from University while she spent 6/7 years getting her's in psychology. Hilarious! 💯🤣
If you like Scottish accents and humour then I highly suggest you watch "Still Game". One of the Great Scottish comedy series. Hilarious, heart warming and a great window into the culture of Glasgow! A reaction series of that would be much appreciated if you can clear it past YT.
My favourite " reactionists " on you tube ! keep it up guys ! I'm Scottish and I've seen all this stuff first hand but I get my fill watching you two ! Brilliant.
The old double decker buses didn't have a door at the rear it was an open platform with a vertical handrail in the centre, it felt like you were surfing when the bus was going quickly lol
One of my favourite Billy Connolly sketches is Terrorist Attack on Glasgow Airport. It's particularly funny as I remember the incident well and one of the bombers was a doctor at my local A&E and stayed in a small village in the same street as my mum's friend. Talk about Do No Harm. My favourite part is talking about having to put subtitles on American News for our Glaswegian accents. There are comedy clips of scottish trying to use a voice automated lift (elevator) and a real life Glaswegian woman having a fight with Alexa and has to talk in an English accent. She turns the air blue when Alexa understands her "English" accent. So funny!
Always wish Billy mentioned that the back of a traditional double decker bus, the rear entrance\exit is an open one (there is no door). That’s how the poor woman ended up outside.
I love Billy. I've been lucky enough to see him live twice, absolutely hilarious. Michael Mcintyre silent letters is also worth watching. So clever and hilarious
i have watched your videos for a while now and quiet enjoyed your reactions. I am from.......Clydebank!!! Hooray!! And where the wee lady 'departed' the bus is at the end of my street,
When my mother slipped on the ice and broke her shoulder I laughed so hard as soon as it happened, I couldn't help her up because I was laughing so much, then she started laughing sat on her arse on the cold ice.
I had this show on dvd, before i lost it in a house move, it is full of hilarious stories. Definitely worth checking out any others you can find from it.
You have to know about the British buses at the time , there was an opening at the side of the bus but at the back and it had only a pole place in the centre of the opening
I do always wonder how Billy managed to get so popular on US TV in the 90s given his accent can be quite impenetrable - though his talent seems to shine through regardless. I used to grow up watching his US sitcom vehicle "Billy!" which was a spinoff of "Head of the Class".
When it comes to stand-up, Billy is the GOAT. He just loves going off on a tangent. If you haven't already, you need to watch his dwarf on a bus story. Also, the t******sts attack on Glasgow airport - hilarious 😂
During COVID my wife & I went for a drive - I’m a vulnerable person, congenital heart condition, 6 operations, really complex and severe. It was at a time you could go out for a walk but we didn’t want to be near anyone. I take 3 diuretics & needed a wee. So we parked in Ashdown Forest (the inspiration for 100 acre wood & Winnie the Pooh) I got out, slid down a slight ridge, cursed for being lucky, and as I peed against a tree quickly I heard “oh uh” thud! “I think I’ve broken my arm!” My wife I slipped. I was still peeing. We were in the middle of nowhere, low battery, low signal, people were coming, dogs came over which I kicked away - basically I had to get my wife an ambulance because I couldn’t come into contact with anyone, with her coming into limited contact with anyone… we drive past now and call it: FALL DOWN FOREST 😂😂😂😂😂😂
To let you understand there was no door on these buses, they were open ended. I remember when I was at school coming home on one of these buses and pulling into the bust stop I went flying off. Lucky it was slowing way down. Lol
Back in the 70's I used to go to and from school on one of these buses with the platform and no door. We'd borrow a hockey stick from one of the girls and used it to hook the handlebars of any bicycles that the bus over took. The look on the kids face on the bike being dragged along at 40 - 50mph was something else. Oh happy days.😆
The *great* Standup story teller. Everything Billy Connolly did on stage is worth seeking out. I absolutely second the nomination of "Still Game" if you want to get thoroughly inducted in all the sweetness (and sadness) of Scottish, and more specifically Glaswegian, humor. It's a fantastic show.
Indeed a legend. He got on a UK chat show in 1975 (Parkinson) and told a story about a wife who had been murdered. Sounds dark, but it wasn’t and it made him an overnight sensation in the UK. He also had a US sitcom series called Billy.
It's the same in Newcastle where I come from. I had to have my little finger amputed after 5 f.cked operations, and when I rang my mate to tell him , the first thing he said was " does that mean we can sell the piano now,Al " 😂
I once got a bus from Buxton to Chesterfield through the Peak District. Lots of very small, narrow roads and for some reason the driver was in a hurry. I was sat on a shiny leather seat and every time we went round a corner I had to hold on or I would have slid straight off the seat. At one point, travelling at break neck speed past fields of sheep, the bus suddenly braked sharply and came to a sudden, grinding halt. We were parked up next to a field of sheep. The driver opened the door and on got a teenage girl in full goth clothing and make-up! I looked around the bus. There wasn't a house in sight, not even a farm. Then I noticed that there was actually a small bus stop sign attached to the telegraph pole. But where the girl had come from, I have no idea.
Hi Mike and Jess just started watching your reactions and really enjoy what you do and how you enjoy the clips you react to............ mine would range from 60's music to current music and lots of the comedy also like Billy etc. If you would like to look and react to some great music try Uriah Heep - Come Away Melinda. You should check out his funny story about The Terrorist attack at Glascow Airport and only The Big Yin could make comedy out of a Terrorist.
Hi, I just thought I’d flag up to you guys that there is another Sydnie Christmas music video to react to. She sings a song called ‘Believer’ at the Royal Variety Performance, which was one of the prizes for winning BGT. It’s an epic ‘Bond’ theme like production.

The greatest stand up comedian of all time. ❤
And the best story teller!
@RyanKeane9. And Eddie/Suzie Izzard.
Without any shadow of doubt, love Billy Connolly
"An Audience With Billy Connolly" is one to watch, where he performs to an audience of British TV personalities. Hilarious.
I saw Billy live, I was 8 months pregnant, I honestly thought I was going to go in to labour.
😆
I love. How you folks love it too. 💓
Billy Connolly talking about incontinence pants is one of the funniest things I've seen in my life, and I've seen a LOT of comedians.
I remember listening to his show on cassette in the 70's
Billy is the master at wandering off into different stories while trying to convey a specific story - The way he can get a laugh out of a side story ( like the car jack pinky finger joke ) and then come straight back to the lady on the bus is masterful.
Billy pure genius… my dad introduced to his comedy when I was a teenager and I’m now 55.. still live it as it’s timeless
I have total respect for this man and wish him well going through illness.
Respect.

I first came across Billy in 1974. No CDs or DVDs in those days, it was a routine recorded on an old 33rpm vinyl record.

Billy Connelly - the crucifixion. Enjoy from Scotland 😉😉
