      the running back is one of the least important positions in the offence now

    • @kimyona9746
      @kimyona9746 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AlonsoRules the runningback is very important nowadays. It's just not important to have as good ones as they were back then. Nowadays you can have a middling runningback dominate a defense that can't stuff a run. Consistently having average or better runningbacks is important. Just the good thing is is that average to good runningbacks are a dime a dozen in the draft and you don't need to trade hard for runningbacks anymore. They aren't meant to be the focus nowadays. They are meant to be a matchup fish often. QBS and wide receivers are still more important. But having an average to good runningback is basically essential to be able to beat teams that focus too much on corners.
      I.e. runningbacks are the ultimate matchup fish players

    Overlooked part of the Hopkins trade is his absence and O’Brien firing caused them to end up with the #3 pick in the draft. That pick was traded to Miami in the Laremy Tunsil deal then Miami traded it to SF. Miami got Jaylen Waddle, Jevon Holland, Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb because of Hopkins being traded.

      No I think it's fair, the point is that the team who got the future legend saw something in the player the team who had them didn't. Young is most forgivable because he had to sit under Montana to become the HOF QB but SF had to recognise his ability in order to make the trade.

    Apparently, the next one on the list is going to be Russell Wilson (and a fourth round draft pick) to the Broncos for two first round picks, two seconds, a fifth, and three players. The Seahawks are getting far better play out of Wilson's former backup (Geno Smith) than Denver is getting out of Wilson, who's struggled badly since his arrival in Denver. Meantime, the Seahawks have turned their first three of the Denver draft picks into Charles Cross, Boye Mafe, Tyreke Smith and Dareke Young (trading the fifth round pick for the two later ones).
    Cross is being described by many analysts as the best rookie lineman of the draft, though there were a handful taken before him. Players Shelby Harris and Noah Fant have become solid contributors. Boye Mafe is showing a strong start. Tyreke Smith and Dareke Young have both had injuries, so they can't be evaluated effectively yet.
    The biggest reason this trade is so lopsided isn't even because of any of the players acquired in the trade. It's because the Seahawks had Geno Smith waiting in the wings already and knew what they had. They kept telling us during the off season that they wouldn't be trading up to get a quarterback that year because they were happy with who they had, and none of us believed them. They were right, though. So giving up Wilson did them no harm at all, but brought in four solid players already, with two high draft picks still to come (and two players whose healthy careers are still to come).
    Russell Wilson is almost certainly a Hall of Fame quarterback for what he's already done in his Seahawks career. But if he doesn't get back for Denver what he had in Seattle, this is going to be one of the most lopsided trades in history.

    The falcons trading favre looks really had in face value but when you look deeper into it favre wasn't liked by the coaches and he had off the field issues going on that led to him getting traded in 1991 it wasn't even a trade to talk about. But didn't age very well at all. Granted ATL ended up beating him in Green Bay in the postseason so I mean fuck it lol

      Ya Glanville was a nut. As HC of the Oilers didn’t he always leave a ticket at will-call for Elvis...just in case? Lol. He was a decent defensive mind for his time. His blitzing schemes were pretty tough to coach against. But ya I agree with you, he’ll be mostly remembered for his personality. I think his last “real” HC job was at Portland State in the late 2000s?
