Nana is under very wrong impression (badi galat fahmi hai unko) that in other countries, especially in West that there is more izzat/respect of military people/persons. He believes that even Presidents stand up. That may happen in Hollywood movies. Not in real life. Perhaps unknowingly, he mixing up reel life with real life. On the contrary, military personnel enjoy much more respect in India. Genuine respect in India. In the West, in order to reach the senior position, especailly after being in a posiion of Colonel, to get promotion, they have to be literal chamcha of a politician. If this topic interests him, he needs to know more about these things.
