Sonic mania should have been the secret game and Sonic Forces should have been revealed first. Keeping a game a secret for longer than another gives people expectations that it will be something that is worthwhile.
That’s true but, still Mania should have been the secret game. It makes more sense for that to be the secret game than forces because with forces they had troubles with the engine for the majority of its development.
The same could have been said of Sonic Mania. You could of said that a 2D Sonic side scroller will never happen. You could have said the same for the Crash Bandicoot remakes and the Spyro remakes.

This teaser is so misleading. I remember watching this and being hyped. Make you wonder why they took a drastically different direction after this. You play more as the custom character than you do as modern sonic, and classic sonic should've been a priority over the avatar.

Sonic Forces had so much potential, SO MUCH POTENTIAL, and it should’ve been great. How SEGA and Sonic Team screwed this game up after Generations which essentially has the same formula for 2 out of 3 playable characters in Forces is beyond me.
The actual trailer for the game was really serious and captivating, no kidding. I’ve heard the game isn’t good, but I’m buying it this year for keeps. Wish for better in the future.
