MIXED BAG Limits In A Tiny TIMBER HOLE | Duck Hunting 2024

- Duck hunting in a tiny, tucked away hole is my favorite way to spend a morning, especially when it involves shooting a mixed bag of good eating birds! We got some snow in Oklahoma overnight and with strong north winds forecasted for the morning we had a feeling that the birds would be back in the willow hole that we had hunted on the first day of our trip. The morning flight was strong but after an unfavorable wind switch, we had to make a quick move to a tiny timber hole in the back of the swamp. Hope you enjoy!

IMO you and High Prairie Sportsman are making the best waterfowl hunting videos out there - keep it up man!
Definitely!
no doubt!
I really appreciate it! Matt undoubtably has the best video out there right now! I love decoying birds but he is truly committed to the craft of getting them feet down and in your face
Great hunt! Been watching your videos for a few years now and love seeing the progress in your calling. You sound 100x better than you used too! Your feeder is absolutely on point! Your highball/comeback you need to put more of a break or pause between notes right now it's almost just one continuous note with different pitches. just my two cents 🤙 keep on keeping on bro!
Thanks Austin, I appreciate it! Been trying to work on those cadences some more this season. It seems like when I focus on making them choppy they turn out good, but if I don't pay attention to it for a couple hunts then it goes back to sounding like one note
@@HokeOutdoors in the excitement of the hunt it happens! Still sounded way better than 9 out of 10 guys you'll hear out there! 😂
Perfect weather, perfect spot, perfect day to hunt.
Thanks Cooper! We were certainly blessed with some amazing weather on this trip!
Watching all those circling birds looks like it was worth the price of admission alone. Awesome
I've never really seen anything like the flight in that spot! What was really incredible is that was the only concentration of ducks like that on 10,000+ acres of public bottomlands. The millet in there must've been freshly flooded and it was what every duck around wanted for breakfast
Hey Thomas, good adjustment in your setup. Nice mix of birds. Hope you are keeping a eye out for deer on the road! Don't need another new truck!
Thanks Gil! Had a couple close calls with those four-legged critters this season but luckily no run-ins!
Videos are top tier man! Just closed out the weekend out in the Los Banos area in California and man, super slow year this year but love to see the videos and all those ducks flying
Thanks brother, I appreciate you watching! You headed back out for the last day of the season tomorrow?
Love you bro keep up,the good work!
Great stuff Thomas...looking forward to catching up with you in the coming weeks.
Thanks Don! Got to put the gadwall call to good use on the last day of this trip. Look forward to catching up soon!
Cannot beat mallards in the timber, great video Thomas
Thanks Hunter! There is something truly magical about watching those orange feet drop through the trees. Hope you had a great season!
Nice! Couple young green heads!! Nothing wrong with that. 🎉🎉😅
Those young ones sure are fun to watch work a spread and call!
Sweet hunt, I enjoyed watching 👍👍🦆🦆
That dog wasn’t in a hurry 😂
Lol Wade loves to take his time when there's ice around!
Thank you for your videos.
Thanks Mark! I appreciate you watching them!
Another amazing video congrats on the limits definitely good looking birds 👍
Thanks Bob!
Great..very accurate,,best hunting video, you are so cool ✨👏👍👌💪
GREAT VIDEO AGAIN BUDDY!!!!
Much appreciated!
Sick video dude!
Like always! 👊🏽
Much appreciated! 🤘
@@HokeOutdoors if you ever find yourself in Arizona for waterfowl season.
I’ll put ya on the X for some Mexican mallards 🤜🏽
Need another franchi review
I'm going to do a 5 year review on it this off season!
Awesome Hunt! What choke are you using?
Thanks brother! Using a carlsons light modified
Hunted a hole that looks identical to this but it's in PA 😂 get up the good videos!!
I hope it had just as many ducks in it as this hole, might be the best hole in PA if it does!
@@HokeOutdoors definitely not as many ducks that's for darn sure 🤣🤣
I know it's perfectly legal to do it but I don't water swat.
Do you ever do any videos on how you cook your ducks?
I have in the past but they never seemed to be much interest in them. I enjoy cooking duck and experimenting with new recipes but I would not say that I'm skilled in the kitchen. Adding cameras into the mix greatly increases the potential for it to turn into a cluster
@@HokeOutdoors That’s too bad, I always like seeing how people cook their ducks. I like doing a stir fry. I also saw someone grind it in hamburger with some bacon for fat. Looked pretty good.
What choke and gun do you use?
Franchi Affinity 3 and carlsons light mod choke
@@HokeOutdoorsthanks
How old is the dog?
I believe he's 6 or 7
dog is one
Not your best shooting lol
It was a struggle.. made up for it on the last day of the trip though!
What choke you using
I also had the same question.
Carlsons light modified
you no longer brought the crane hunt as you promised me🥲
I tried to find some down in Texas but they weren't in their usual stomping grounds this year unfortunately
@@HokeOutdoors ohhh, ok, thank you for your answer and for the try. If not this, will be next time.
