Financial Supports for Carers

When you’re new to being a carer, it can be tricky to know where you can find information to help you in your caring role. Carers Australia has created this video to help you learn more about the financial supports you may be entitled to through the Australian Government.

If you care for a family member or friend with disability, a medical condition, mental illness, or who is frail due to age, there is support available for you. To find out more, head to carergateway.gov.au or call 1800 422 737 Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm and select Option 1 to speak with your local Carer Gateway service provider. Emergency respite is also available 24/7 on the same number.

Allowance is also based upon the person youre caring fors assets..If its a parent and they have over a certain amount of assets ..You get no payment
