I usually play variants of red (Jund, Izzet, etc) but today I got the "kill 15 creatures" and "play white/blue spells" and decided to give Azorius Control a go. And, begrudgingly, it's fun. I hate myself now.
I have mindspace apparatus azorius but once I faced a deck with stone brain and korose who kept sending all my wincons to oblivion and I haven't used that deck since.
Try not to get too discouraged especially against a deck that's as sinister as that one, I have that same problem from time to time(I'm sure most of us do especially control mages) I mean I usually put the deck down for a bit and try to come back to it with better all around cards if any, but I've also just dropped decks completely if they just seem to never play great so I get it.
All three of the recent bans have really helped UW Control in this meta. Each of those cards did not have a clean answer and now control doesn’t have to worry about that.
the first opponent probably used the red effect twice because it also gives +1/+0. in case he got to attack thrice he could have killed you before you would have killed him with your mites with exact damage.
Yeah, rakdos/grixis is done. No invoke, no bankbuster, no fable, best card advantage they still have is corpse appraiser. Siphon Insight is hella horrible though, 5 mana draw 2 from the other library is a terrible rate.
Does your deck tracker know what card was stolen with siphon insight? If it tells you what cards are left and you can check hand/field/grave/exile and find the missing card(s)? Or is that “cheating”? :p
I really not a fan of sweepers. Why are they in the game? I feel like you should be able to win with any deck, without having to build against a certain card. Someone help me with copium here
This deck would be amazing to play, if we where playing on table top MTG arena has to many force loss conditions then just had anyone with a crap deck wins , it's disappointing the app use to be fun, but it's way to rigged to enjoy now sadly
so the meta is changing from ultra quick games to absurd boring long ones? there's really no in between with this game.. im so glad that you can just skip to the next opponent at any time.. let me enjoy my creature decks with combat tricks... cant have fun when i cant play creatures because everything gets wiped from the table all the time...
I love that control is back in the meta. These matches are why we love to play control. Long, grindy, tense thats (for me) peak Magic gameplay.

I always thought control was the midrange counter, but standard pre-ban certainly put paid to that understanding.

If you replace Lockdown with Sun Fall the proliferate with pump up the incubator token, as well.
Lockdown coming down 2 turns earlier and answering opposing incubators is also important

There was no 4th Breach. There's no way he exiles his own graveyard with a fourth breach somewhere in his deck.
