    Very clear instructions! I tried to follow other explanations but couldn’t find the middle of the knot where the bottle goes - your explanation was perfect! Thank you!

    Great video. Have the pause button ready and go step by step. I have used this tutorial to help me create my own hanging tea light jars. 👍

      I agree. Finally after watching a slew of other videos... this is the one I understand and I used it to hang my cilantro, basil, and oregano plants on my 3 Sheppard hooks near my vegetable garden. Thank you sir.

    2nd one, because of the loop of cord over each of the handles. 1st one has a slightly higher chance of one of the handles slipping a bit if pulled up too tightly. 😊

    Is there a formula or rule of thumb to be followed for a length of rope used for carrying handle desired?

    • @undefinednull5749
      @undefinednull5749 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. I'd like to know that,too. But the Answer is to use too much and convert the excess into a more comfortable thicker handle using for example the sheepshank knot/s.

    Thank you! All the other instructions for this were not helping me... these were both very easy to do and (more importantly) remember! Do you have one for plant pots? That goes under the plant/jug?

    I watched your video and tried and like both ways, while taking apart I found a easier way to tie the first one.
    Tie cord in loop, make a elongated triple figure 8. Place left loop inside middle loop, right over both, then go under both on left side. Snug and done. Super easy, give it a try

    Is 1m of string enough for 1 jar?

    Can we hang purely cylindrical objects ( objects without necks ) with this knot??

    • @ParacordPlanet
      @ParacordPlanet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldn't recommend it. If it is light, it may work. Something like a grip hitch or constrictor knot could be more what you are looking for.

    Did I miss how long the loop is ?

    • @ParacordPlanet
      @ParacordPlanet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rope length will depend on the size of bottle neck you are tying it around and how long you want the handles to be.

    • @kafkabig
      @kafkabig ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems the knot has the cord loop 3 times around the jar. For a jar of diameter d, and handle length h, that's 3πd+4h.
      9.42d + 4h but you could find up to 10d+4h, in particular if d is small compared to h.
      Example: d=4 inches and h=3 inches, (d is big, h is small so using the original formula) 50 inches. Add an inch or two for the overhand knot or double fisherman knot
