"Hope is the bedrock of this nation, the belief that our destiny will not be written for us but by us, by all those men who are not content to settle for the world as it is, who have the courage to remake the world as it should be."
Mark it down, that sentence will be timeless. Powerful stuff.

This is one of the most powerful speeches I have ever heard. I would compare it to the famous "I had a dream" speech given by MLK. If Barack can unite people the way he has on the campaign trail, I believe we will all be able to breath a little easier the next 4 years.

When you work as hard as he has, attend law school, make sacrifices for the betterment of the people collectively, and become Senator of Illinois, then you may compare yourself to him.
Until that time comes, please put your arrogance in check.

signed, sealed and delivered~read an article today that tied hope to dreams~took me that long to realize~finding my place in the sun~a dream come true~was what I hoped for when I listened to that Stevie Wonder song over & over again~Obama's win in Iowa seems like another hope & dream coming true~maybe not in time for me & you, but someday at Christmas time...

I am a liberal, but I do have friends, family and co-workers that are republicans, and almost without exception they are impressed with Obama. I have heard the words "I think I'm going to vote for Obama" come out of the mouths of people I NEVER thought I would hear say anything good about a liberal candidate. I'm not exaggerating just to make a point, I'm just glad to be able to share support for a leader with people I avoided political conversations with in the past.

I had some problems in my life and am finally starting to get back on track. Today was one of those days where I just felt bleak about my future. The enitre day I thought that nothing was ever gonna get any better. This man gives me hope that my future will be better. That someone in power out there cares about lower middle class and is willing to do what they can to help me. He gives me a reason to dream for a brighter tomorrow.

Future President Obama, You will have my first presidential vote ever and in return I will recieve the gift of remembering for eternity what change and optomism can do in each and every voice. I will vote for you without sway or flinching. I was skeptical for a very long time and you sir have not only affected my political skepticism, but even made my personal lifes outlook more optomistic and hopeful. Thank you, and Obama 08!! I am Canadian who grew up by Detroit and saw the years of civil rights struggles. If I lived in the USA Mr Obama is the only person I would vote for. It does not matter what color you are but what you want for yours and your children's future. I know that he is not Martin Luther King but he is HOPE for America. I cried at the end of his speech. Now on to New Hampshire and the White House.

Yes, for ages I've been a shy-away from politics and have considered them too complicated and downright depressing, but this year, my first year to be of age to vote, I've been reading up on and watching all the potential candidates--and I have to say, despite the fact we have MANY absolutely fantastic people running, Obama is undeniably giving me the most sincere, honest vibe that he has what it takes to turn this country around more than anyone else. OBAMA '08!

He reminds me of rfk and jfk the way he speaks. Kinda scares me he wont make it to November because anyone who trys to do good things or change this country gets assassinated like Bhutto did in Pakistahn or martin luther king, or jfk. Pray hes ar next president we really need a changefor the better.

cheney and GWB had quite extensive resumes and "experience" when they entered office... and look where that has gotten us.
It is a matter of having good judgment and offering a new vision. Barack has decades of experience doing community organizing, has successfully worked on the state and federal levels of government, and worked as a lawyer for community justice... that is his experience and he has an excellent track record of achieving results in all of those arenas.

Obama will be the greatest president we've had in the last 50 years. There will never be another like him in American politics. He has everything a man needs to be a strong leader - even though his international experience may be less than other candidates. He is honest, inspiring and has learned from the mistakes of his past. The other candidates just seem to recycle their mistakes. Vote Obama for Prez!
