Modular Halo 3 Magnum Showcase and Free Files!

- Hi Guys, and welcome to my new page! I am kickstarting it with a project I have been working on for a while, my Halo 3 Magnum files!
It's fully modular, is designed to be assembled using a minimum of glue, and the downloads include all the STLs AND a full instruction booklet on how to assemble and print!
You can make the halo 3 Magnum, the Halo 3 ODST SOCOM pistol, the halo legends headhunter pistol, or a range of other combinations and assemblies!

Hey guys, if anyone has problems with the trigger cover merged with the casing, the fixed files have been uploaded tho thingiverse.
I must have had both files selected when j exported the muzzle and casing section.

Dude you're a God send. I literally.beem looking for conversion files like these tue past week, almost giving up and making foam Variations and then I see this uploaded today. Bravo mate its realistically modular and kudos to your skills on designing them and giving the files out for free! Definitely giving you a follow.
If you have any plans on doing the same for the smg I'd be excited for that too!

But I'm thinking that an smg will be on the cards at some point as well!

Nice! I'm currently in the process of modeling and printing my own odst armour! It's a long process, printing armour, but it's pretty fun!

You should add the grip bumps. They are extremely subtle in the original, so use MCC’s skin customization system to get a better look at where they go

WOW ! I am just with all the CAD stuff. Can you share a bit background of what tool you used and maybe do a how to video of only one part of the gun how you constructed it? ABSOLUTE AMAZING !
Thanks man! I modeled this in Fusion 360, and I highly recommend it if you want to start learning CAD! Im currently trying to do some more videos, but my computer speed is slowing me down, so ill probably start making videos more regularly once I upgrade my computer system :)
Sir you have done an excellent job. I don't know about you but I have been obsessed with the ODST's since Halo 2 came out, and ever since then I have been trying to design and build their weapons and armor onto other platforms. You have done an exceptional job, I would have to say it is definitely the best looking and best scaled M6 I have seen.
I am a mechanical engineer and have been using 3D CAD since 2005 and you have really blown me away. Did you use any reference materials for dimension or just try to eyeball and line up silhouettes? I am designing a M6 "cover" for the AAP-01 so that I can get my larps in.

This looks excellent. Do you have any more specifics on the 15mm screws? Stuff like pitch, head diameter, thread diameter, etc?
I think the ones I used had 7mm head diameter, and were originally just woodworking screws haha

I’m trying to make a CE style magazine attachment for it but the STLs have really bad geometry when I port them to blender
It may not be a real gun. But I certainly can make this into a setup that goes ONTO a real gun!!
How much time it took you to print the magnum?
Is there any screws or springs needed?

I currently have all the footage ready for a cleanup assembly video, and I'm slowly working through the 96GB of video to try and turn it into a manageable video! My computer is not exactly handling it well though, but hopefully ill have it out in the next while soon!

I'm looking to print this but I'm very new to 3d Printing (Never made a print before), this wont be my first project as I'd hate to screw it up before I get the hang of things.
My first printer is a Anycubic Mega Zero 2.0, what are the recommended print settings and filament for this project? Thank you!
Welcome to the world of 3D printing! I used PLA+ from esun for the models seen here, but any pla should be fairly straightforward to print, in theory. Print settings are discussed in part in the build guide, which is included in the folders with the files in them :D

I dont have a 3d printer but i really want this. Could i pay u to make it and ship it to me? Just gray is fine
Problem I had last night while printing the muzzle and casing: Printing it as given, straight up and down, leads to the printer trying to print in mid air and making a mess. Thankfully I was awake to catch it, and stopped the print. I opened the file, cut it in half horizontally, and printed it as two separate pieces rather than printing the muzzle on it's side in worry of encountering the same issue twice. I plan on gluing these two together at the end since I don't plan on putting it through that much physically, but regardless I wasn't happy to see it couldn't be printed as given with no notes (that I saw) saying otherwise. If this is my fault, I understand, I'm new to printing. If there's anything I should know going forward please let me know.
I have an Anycubic Mega X printer, if that changes how I was supposed to do things.
Heya! sorry you had this issue! All of my orientation recommendations are found in the tutorial PDF included with the files. in future, I will probably look at exporting all of the files in the position they are designed to print in.
@@fromthebrinkstudios715 After I fixed the orientation, the support became spaghetti while printing, but I think that's because I'm using cura? it's wrapping support around the model instead of supporting straight up and down. Either way, I think my problems are on my end, thank you for helping me out. if you have any other tips for the support, I'd love to hear them

Be sure you are opening the ZIP file, that is where every print is organized.
