I love listening to the Dubliners throughout the years. For over 40 years. In my opinion, extremely talented gentlemen and musicians. I find it great for my mental health and emotional well-being issues and mobility issues like when sometimes I am housebound. Putting them on through TH-cam it makes me have a mixture of emotions, cry happy tears, laugh at their jokes, and how they interact with each other, especially the audience. Y'know, Sean may be getting old, but his harmony on The Black Velvet Band's Chorus has always been a highlight, and I'm so glad he can still hit that note. Crazy how recent this was! So proud of the Dublin Legends for trying to keep the spirit of the dubs alive.
I dont think anybody ever expressed any hint of unfair play to him. Personally I still think he's the best singer here. I'd rather listen to him than this butchered version of molly malone that he made bearable.
It's wondeful that the legacy gets carried on. Johns wish to retire doesn't mean the others can't carry on. The Dubliners have always had fluctuations in personel. John also kept going as The Dubliners after Luke Kelly died. Seems rather selfish to me that John doesn't want the legacy to continue without him. Much respect to Sean Cannon and the others, seen them live last year and very much enjoyed it.
First off, it's spelt Sheehan, secondly they are not called the Dubliners! But the music and the memory of this legendary band should continue, I'll be sure to pass on your remarks to Sean at the next rehearsal...
Sean is becoming old. I do not know if it helps his health to give still concerts. His voice only shadow of his brilliant decades. Same problem Ronnie had.
@@Marc443 Sean was a member of the dubliners and the dubliners always had fluctuations in their line-up. they carry on the spirit in a great way, i saw them live and i'm happy i did. really annoying to see haters and gatekeepers in the comment section here.
The gig was good, but please, this lineup has really nothing to do with the Dubliners. Except of Sean, who was worldclass, the rest is more or less Irish Pub league.
Gerry O'Connor is a very renowned and incredible banjo player, one of the best banjo players you'll ever see in folk music and also great on the fiddle. He played with Joe Bonamassa too. A wordclass musician.
@Marc443 you've posted 3 or more hate comments on this video. i have no idea how someone who is listening to this music can have such a disgusting character, maybe you should go listen to some rap music..
He's 82. Incredible that he's still touring, of course his voice sounds older than 30 years ago. I saw them 3 times in their European tour last year and even though his voice is not as powerful anymore, it still holds up well. It 's beautiful to hear his voice in songs like Fainne Geal an Lae, the older voice makes the song more emotional. In the 3 times I saw them live, all I saw was smiling faces and happy people. Why should he stop touring if he's still making people smile and can continue to do so in the autumn of his life? To be doing this at 82 is incredible and I hope he can continue doing it, the fire is still there when he's singing and you can see he enjoys being on stage.

100% agree ♥
82 years old Sean Cannon makes the best of it. The Dubs-spirit still alive.
him and john are the best credit to them
Sean Cannon is my favourite from the first time I heard him singing in the early eighties and he is still my favourite singer. God bless him.
Sean, you're just wonderful. Keep singing. As long as you feel able! God bless you from a long term fan.
.
Gerry, Sean,Patsy, Mick...Chapeau!!!! Les Dubliners ne disparaitront jamais. Qu'on se le dise!!!!!!
Well done lads! Long live, Sean! ♥
Fair play to Sean, 82 and still going. Always loved The Newry Highwayman and his version of Dublin Jack Of All Trades

Great fiddling Garry! I love the way you are playing 😊

💗RESPECT
The Dubliners name was retired after the passing of Banjo Barney. Why couldn't these fellas respect John Sheahans wishes.

Respectless to name it „The Dubliners“. Sean is brlliant, but this lineup has nothing to do with the Dubs!
They are/were called the Dublin Legends...
@@Sabouma28 But in the headline „Dubliners“. Nothing to do with!

They should never call themselves the dubliners. Not bad band

@@zsuzsannarajeczky9010 I agree - especially on that rendition of "McAlpine's Fusiliers"
Awesome stuff!! Ill be joining them soon..
Sean should stop with it! Is he ill? Does anybody knows more?
if he was, he would not be playing
Stop telling people what to do with their lives.
