It's really a history of 9 o'clock / 10 o'clock news intros. Before I selected it I thought it was only dating from year 2000, when the 10 o'clock news was launched. Glad it includes 9 o'clock news intros aswell
10:51 That blizzard would be January 2003. My father was in hospital and I and my brother and sister would visit him every day, although he was mostly unconscious. Come the blizzard and the whole of Central London shut down. With no buses and all the streets gridlocked, the three of us had to give up getting to Barnet and we sent messages to the hospital saying we could not come. 2am I got the call : my father had passed away. They say "they wait until you're not there to slip away". Which was a comfort.
The vastly different longevity of each of the theme tunes is interesting... 70-81: 11 years 81-85: 4 years 85-88: 3 years (someone at the Beeb obviously hated it!) 88-99: 11 years (the news theme of my childhood) 99-now: 22 years and counting!
Today's theme is iconic compared to the rest. The moment you listen to it you immediately associate it with BBC News. I hope they don't change it soon.
The new bottom scrolling ticker uses this ease-in-out (exponential) keyframing when sliding the text upwards for each headline. It's a nice change. Makes the headlines easier to read as opposed to having them endlessly scroll like the old one.
Well... Here are my requests (Unless you are comfortable doing it because you don't have to do it all.) 1. France 2 20 Heures or 13 Heures? 2. France 3 12/13 or 19/20 3. M6 LE1245 or LE1945 4. RTL KLUB RTL Hirado 5. Echo TV Hirado 6. LRT Televizija Panorama 7. PRO TV Stirile PRO TV 8. Rossia 1 Vesti in 20:00 That's all so thank you so much and take care.
Hope for a update of the intro evolution, because it got a Studio update on June 13th 2022. Also,in 25th April the new BBC logo arrived on the BBC News logo
I've already made TG5 in the past, but it was taken down by copyright claims. You can watch this unlisted and slightly bugged draft version: th-cam.com/video/BjvMbvibSMI/w-d-xo.html

It didn’t mess about....

Yeah, the talk was it came off a *wee* bit fascist-y.
It's a whole movie
Stephen Doran wait what? Facist? Eh, I can see what they mean but it’s a bit extreme no?

The 1999 theme is now a traditional from BBC News.
They always tweak itevery year orso but the basic theme remains the same the last 20 plus years.
5:42 the best by far

Bbc five launch
7:52 The real legend that will modernize the BBC news at 10
I love the huge transparent BBC Coat of Arms - 'Nation shall speak peace unto Nation'! Very dramatic.
That transition from titles to studio in the 2006 and 2007 clamshell titles has not aged well at all - so gaudy and American.
Something like it now would be nicer than a fade though. The whole look is so outdated
Loved the 5:40 intro
And to complete the compilation, the One O' Clock News from the BBC
0:43 is cool
Given that prior to 2000, it was the nine o'clock news, the title of this video needs a rework!
The newsreaders were so posh back then!
Next: Euronews or Eastern European News.
