I've been using dash cams for years now. Good habit to get into is to verbally say what you can see so audio on the camera picks it up. License plate numbers, vehicle description, suspect description, and so on. I've had my Atoto S8 for a year and a half now and it has been perfect in my 97 Blazer. I don't have Atoto dash cam or backup camera, but their TPMS system works perfect. Change the batteries one them once a year and you're fine.
I honestly don't know the answer to that. It runs via an android app called DVR Dash Camera, so maybe? I suppose you could try it with another HU and send it back if you can't get it to work.
I had actually forgotten that I have that same camera installed until I watched your video. I probably forgot because it is not an ideal solution and the interface is not very good either. I always run two dashcams in my cars anyway so it's not that big of a deal for me. You might want to reconsider and turn your microphone back on for the very reason you demonstrated in this video, your camera could not read most of the license plates but you read them out loud which is a good way of capturing them.
Parking mode would be a good plus, but at least you get simplified installation for the features you get. I got mine this week and will be installing today it in my 11 yrs old car. I have an Atoto S8, but the smaller screen. I got a great deal 2 yrs ago, kind of regret now that I didnt get the 10 inch unit, but wasnt sure it would fit since my dashboard has a weird shape, 2013 Elantra. On a separate note, your night lights seem to be too high, don’t know if you were using high beams or if it is an effect from the recording. It could be that you have replaced halogens with leds, in any case that can be adjusted so that you can bring the line down and avoid blinding other drivers. I have just installed leds in my car, there are newer models that are supposedly design to minimize this issue but i will be checkingthe alignment just in case. There are videos in youtube that show how to check and realign the headlights if needed. Thank you for this video.
I have aftermarket projectors with HIDs installed, and yes, I was driving with my high beams on. The lows have a nice sharp cutoff line otherwise. The 10" screen is incredible, and there's a good bit of wiggle room built into this particular unit to allow it to fit a myriad of dashboards. Mine is a Pro Edition, but they also sell an ULTRA edition that has a floating screen, which sticks out of the dash quite a bit more than the Pro..
How you doing, which backup camera are you using? I’m using the ATOTO AC-HD02LR 720P Rearview Camera with a S8 Premium head unit and its not working. Thanks in advance.
@@Theanimebois I have the 3LR birds eye view camera. th-cam.com/video/DxTYSfwKOtk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D7r7fXRSoVNMeSgF Link is in the description of that video.

That's a great tip, thanks!
Anyone noticed Camaera timetamp color changes to match background color? It's an awesome touch. ATOTO programmed it very well.
Yep, that's pretty slick!
Well done
This DVR camera is compatible with all Android car radios or only with the Atoto brand?
THANKS

@@Pro1er That's a damn good idea!!
Your pretty good with one hand.
Still don't think I need a camera at this point. Enjoy yours.
🤣 Thanks!!

is IT possible tot install without radio car? On phone,tablet...
@@Iulian-w8j Would be cool if it was, but sadly it's proprietary only to ATOTO's android head units.
Do you have to have wifi to the radio for the camera to record and run that app?
@@strong40 No you do not need to be connected to WiFi.
With that camera can I record 7/24? Thank you .
@@joseayala1492 It only records when the car is on, and 3 minutes after you shut it off.
wow can't wait!
