Well done John ! Seems you have a 'yellow' invasion in the DMU. But sure they know the difference between white and red too... Happy model railroading, Cheers, Filip

Great update, I’ve found some of my old Lima stuff to be good runners and quite reliable thanks for sharing 👍🏻

Looks great! Brought the same unit on eBay recently and very pleased with it. My layout is DC but may still look at the axle pick-ups to see if I can improve the running over point frogs which seems an issue on all my old Lima diesel locos.

Thanks John. The DCC Concepts axle pickups are only really applicable to dummy car wheels unless you have a Co-Co loco and then you can fit hem to the centre axle which, on Lima locos does not have a pick up. To get the loco running better I would advise 1) ensuring the pick up wheels are spotless and shiny 2) the brass pickup strips that contact the axles are equally clean and 3) solder a wire to the "dummy" end of the loco axle brass pickup strip, drill a small hole in the bogie and loco frame and solder the other end of the wire to the connection wire to the loco motor. This is the wire soldered to the clip that holds the brass bogie retaining pin and is a well known duff connection point. I have also found that keeping the axles well clear of lubrication helps as well as ensuring the gears and commutator are good & clean. Regards. John PS When dismantling these locos make sure you note which way round the axles are re-fitted vis a vis insulated/non insulated wheels - don't ask how I know this!
